I've got to the point where I can box kill a BoT tower boss now (the one in the Diablo II platforms + ladders style seems easier than the others), so once I have scored some more loot from him, and (found class legs armour which is eluding me) I'll be ready to move on.

I see Plane of Fire is a custom zone but I couldn't find any loot there. I gather there is a way to levitate over that great wall, but is there anything there I want as upgrades before trying PoTime?

I'm also ready to collect Kings Chest cards but from what I read, I need Time gear before LDoN is doable. Sound right?

no loot at all in PoFire, not even off the boss.. it's for XP only.

yes you want to do PoTime first (epic 1.5) then LDON (epic 2.0)

A. Tiers are as follows:
             Plane of Time A
             LDoN zones
             Qvic
             Tacvi
             T1 Plane of Dragons (Grassy section of Plane of Storms)
             T2 Plane of Dragons (Desert section of Plane of Storms)
             T3 Plane of Gods (Halls of Honor A)
             T4 Plane of Gods (Plane of Sky)
             T5 The Abyss

Contrary to popular belief Qvic is NOT T1, Plane of Dragons is (AKA Plane of Storms on Live)

 

Q. What armor drops where?
A. Armor drops by "What zone they're in now=What zone they were in on Live"
Field of Bone=custom
Oasis/Paludal Caverns/Mistmoore Castle=Old Sebilis/Thurgadin
Dulak=Vex Thal
Bastion of Thunder=Plane of Time B
Plane of Time A=Tacvi
Ldon=Citadel of Anguish
Qvic=Dreadspire
Tacvi onwards=custom

get your 1.5 then start on LDON.  I would run all the way to the end getting all the pages and the key to level 6, that will get your 2.0.

 then go back for the king's cards, and make sure you pick up an oracle charm for paladin and sorc for warrior while you are there
