Any chance we can get a tweak to the RNG on page drop rates.
Some times I get 2 or 3 in a row from a section but its really rare.
I usually average 4 or 5 clears to get one page.
Its why I am constantly in /auc wtb pages.
I think its a unnecessary bottle neck.
When I can destroy all of HoH before respawns and do it several times a day I think its gotten to the point where 3.5 bottle neck should just go away.
I hope others on the server will voice support for increasing the drop rate on pages.
At the very least consider making 1 avatar for each type (2 for hell) set to have 100percent drop rate for a page.
Just like every other epic page dropping NPC in the game I should be able to walk the avatar section and have a finished epic each run.

It's what 5% now with RNG.. that's like - 80%...
I could see it set to 20% or so..
just my 2c that's never worth much anyway..
100% would be much.. still need that ahh-haa moment on this treadmill

Just got a tell in game saying shadow should drop a compleated book.
I like that and wish it was the case.

Ya not sure what its set to atm either but do agree would be nice for it to be raised if its at 5% then 20-25% would be nice.. I don't get why we went from 3.0 completed book to.. Oh now you need pages for 3.5.. But wait now 4.0 you get the whole book again. lol |

Well, with the upcoming shadow change.. a low level guild attempting to get a shadow book could turn into a long time sink to run around clearing to him after he steps over and over again..
Maybe a complete book would be the solution.. don't know just brainstorming some..
what ya think?

4 to 5 clears per page?
i rarely go more than 2 clears without getting a page drop
earth or skies i some times go 3 clears but that is because there are less mobs
and i have been farming hoh non stop since he put pages in there
drop rate is fine imo

Hmm that's something I had not thought about and agree with.
If he steps to any area other then the one you just cleared into it makes his fight stupid long.
Not everyone is willing to redo their group of characters to be able to maximize killing speed, then go charm farm them up.
A completed 3.5book would be perfect for the work.

I was going to write an angry post of how you're being very singleminded. Instead I'm opting for passive-aggressive. If your only solution for Shadow relocating is clearing, then you should consider learning a bit more about your non-warrior classes' abilities.
Drop rate upped would be nice, having one mob drop 100% would be nice, having Shadow as he is now drop completed 3.5 is not nice, having new Shadow drop completed book is nice.

Really, I can clear all of HoH before respawn, Balthor can clear HoH before respawn, that's not the issue.... didn't you see that in the above posts... but you would rather be "passive aggressive" WTF does other classes abilities have to do with KILL all the MOBS = NO PAGE drop!? I'm confused just like your post.. Clearing 2 -4 times and not getting a complete book is blah... lots of stones but still blah.. thank god I'm done with 3.5s |

Stupid rage was aimed at the whining about Shadow being changed and how that was going to affect your Shadow kill. My apologies to those who got offended and/or confused by it.
I agree that HoH could do with a better system of pages, as it now takes a truckload of time to finish. I agree that putting a complete book on Shadow is a good idea, but I wouldn't do it before Shadow raid has been changed, as Shadow itself right now is very easily doable and would create a massive influx of 3.5's, basically making 3.5 the new 3.0 - which I don't think is a good idea before t5 is being explored.

I currently on my third clearing of Underworld for a page for an alt. I think 5% is a bit low, but i don't think it needs to be more than 10%.

Lower level pages don't take an hour because they're pages, they take an hour because they're lower level content done by vastly over-geared characters. Applying your reasoning to armor sets, one can conclude that a full set of T4
should take you two days because thats how long it takes to get all your QVIC gear. Try doing a 1.5 epic with 1.0 geared characters and you'll find getting your book takes about as long as the HOH content. |
