Anyone else try this spell lately?  I used it this morning and it crit blasted for 7,900 hps. It seemed to be hitting way less than the advertised listing of 50k hps.  I must be seeing something wrong I bet but can someone check it out for me?

Thought you had that cloned server to work on.
Get a spell parser and run the ID through and check what it does.

This probably does not mean anything but when I was testing it on my test server using the -advertised- spell file, it was doing noncrit hits of 15536 consistently.

Nope no cloned server to do testing on though I wish I did.  Just me and my little ole pc here.  Glad to see it was'nt just me getting numbers wrong.

I know everything cant get fixed by one guy who works alot, I'd like to maybe help out in fix mages to more viable position.

I looked at the spell file and have no idea why people are reporting it hitting for 27k-44k range.
You do any more testing with it since you made the post?

I wonder if 50000 is to big of a number and its rolling over to either 5000 base or some other number.
Or shits just straight up resisting part of it.

I dont think its resisting I didnt see the message anyhow.  Maybe the 50k thing is correct but the wizards t3 spell used to be the same and had no problems.

Hmm this interests me. Really curious now as to why its doing what its doing.
To be honest I am surprised its not a rain spell, 25k per rain for 3 rains. Being that Mages had big rains nasty pets and ok single target DD.

the fix:
Quote
UPDATE spells_new SET max1=0 WHERE id=9720

Not sure why but the max1 field was causing this issue, since you are using formula 100(ie flat damage, level plays no part) then this field is irrelevant anyway. Probably something to look into later.

I'd love to see a bit of mage love.  A mage was my main on live and I was disappointed when I found out mid-end game on this server they were essentially useless.

As mages are all about their pet, their survivability needs to be greatly improved, nothing more disheartening then having your pet die, waiting for the recast and having it immediately die again.

What about creating a pet regen spell similar to the druid epic regen?  Unfortunately the amount healed per tick would have to be very large to make a difference.  Anyway to seriously up their avoidance or mitigation?

Regarding the spell, I like the idea of a serious rain spell vs a bolt as Balthor mentioned.
