I don't see a Technical Problems forum so I suppose I will post here for now.  Anyway, I'm having an issue with the game totally not responding when trying to enter the world from the character screen.  I'm able to log into Project 1999 no problem, but EZ Server freezes every time and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to end the process.

Here is my dbg.log below.  It looks like something is going on with my UI, but I'm not sure what.  Any help/suggestions are welcome.

can you change to resuolution of your screen in options in login screen?

I remember having the same issues once but with changing this it was solved.

You say you can log into P99 just fine... did you by any chance follow their stupid ass guide about deleting UI's and setting up the ass old classic one?

Try to log into PEQ or something and see if you get the same error.
Betting that is the issue.
Myself I can log into any of the servers (not locked/down obviously) and I never felt the desire to stab a knife into my face by using that gimp ass UI

Ugh, I think that might be it.  I installed and overwrote ALL the files including the UI ones thinking it was required.  I think I'm using the velious UI.  I tried loggin into PEQ, here is what I get:

I might be wrong but honestly just do a fresh install, back up your character files for P99 so you dont lose stuff like friends list / spell sets.
Do not follow the p99 guide telling you to change UI stuff.
All you need to do is follow the part about renaming / moving the zone file for lavastorm and I think nek forest.
The rest of that guide might tell you its required and its bullshit.
As I said I can log in just fine there.

Shouldnt be an issue but your hostfile points to what?
Going to bed now but someone can give you advice if you need it still.

If you are really using a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000 you will want to turn all your graphics down as much as you can once you are able to get into the game.

From the information it seems to be either network related or UI related. If you could play on P99 and not EZ, then it is possible the P99 UI is boning ya. I'm unsure how bad the P99 ui rape really is, and may look into it tomorrow morning (if nothing else, to better aid in reversing it..if possible).

edit: Alright, I got inquisitive. Backed-up all the files being murdered, and installed the P99 UI. Looked like all unholy piss, acted like a down syndrome child in a swimming pool of oatmeal, and bugged me to hell. However, I had zero issues getting into and out of EZ Server. I will attempt to attach my copies of these files, so you may attempt to restore game play.

NOTE: THESE WILL ONLY WORK ON TITANIUM!
dbstr_us.txt goes into base Everquest directory (ex: C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest   that is the base folder)
spells_us.txt goes into base also (it's on the left pane under CUSTOM SPELL FILE  ;-D )
uichanges.zip is unzipped into ...\everquest\uifiles\default

Consider this EZ's Server P99 Damage Control Fix. (at least hopefully)

I suspect however that you might have a video card issue. I noticed it registered 0.0 pixel shader and 0.0 vertex shader. May want to run OptionsEditor.exe in the Everquest base directory to try and reset/configure some of those options.
