Here is what is known about the encounter and where a fix is needed.   We can successfully beat Kern down to 25% without issue.  However, at that point, Kern will spam the saying, "Kern the Terror uses his magic to become stronger" non-stop.  While there is no issue with the mob becoming stronger the never ending spam eventually will flood the Everquest client causing the client to disconnect from the EZ server.

If the spamming issue was removed, the mob becomes doable and perhaps could be buffed to keep the challenge going.

Camric started the thread far as i can see so ill submit sc's of my toons, at 24% with the spam and showing them alive still trying to cast spells and atk, even shows my pet atking still, like a good boy =)

The gimp, trying to keep the pets alive....

The common denominator through it all is the 24% spam of ....stronger, is whats crashing the zone, when these sc's were taken, was only 30 of us in zone or so, and Anema was there as well.

I already know were the error in the code is and I'll send an updated .pl file to Hunter. As far as beefing it up I'm not going to make any changes but Hunter is more than welcome to. Maybe I'll send over another event that's a little tougher and require some more thinking from you guys.

Great job Crab.

Our group yesterday should have been able to complete the quest if it wasnt for the 24% spam.

I might have found a way to "avoid" the DT.  I will check it out first and let friends of the Ashar Nation know.

Yeah large groups are going to be much more susceptible to the spam issue than small groups hence the insta crashes with 40 at 24%. For me while he started spamming there it had just added up to approx a 2-3 second lag by the time he was down in the single digits. I did use 2 computers however and 11 toons total in my attempt - unfortunately I forgot to put augments into my dps since I haven't been using them in a while, this may have made the difference - since I think the fight really went an hour or something stupid long without having any reasonable dps.

There was code for next hp event at 25% health, and I think I fixed it. Let me know if it works now (after reboot that is currently counting down).

Seemed same to me, as a suggestion I'd give the Summon item to everyone that completes the quest not just the 1 time food item, seems kinda chintzy as a reward.

Think the reward needs a boost to make it desirable for casters.

perhaps add 5k mana and 250 mana regen?

I would ask what type of loot to put on it, but I'd probably get responses like Pets, 10k hp items, and Charm Upgrades, which I'm not doing.

Heading to work in a few minutes, and haven't read a lot of emails still. Its a busy week at work here.

Change the clicky to an exp potion. Right clicking yeilds 1 exp potion. Clickable once every 24 hours. Or if you want to make it lore, clickable once every 1 to 2 hours. No trade either way.
