Heya,

I have tried three times over the past couple days to complete the Death spell quest on my Necro (Cryel).

Every time I complete the Rk I task and give  the blood token to the roaming gnome in Casters Guild he just hands back the token with "I have no need for this Cryel, you can have it back"

I do have both Rk 1 and 2 of;
- Unholy Shackles,
- Hungering Pyre,
- Kiss of Corath, and
- Insinuations of Mori

and have memorised rk 1 in gems 1-4 prior to handing in but no dice.

Any light shed on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

First, what level is your necromancer?
Second, do you have any ranks of Death right now?
Third, are you handing the Roaming Gnome in the Caster's Guild the tokens or one of the Roaming Gnomes in the other zones (i.e. TOFS)?

He has no ranks of death yet

Attempted the quest twice more over the past couple of days still no luck.

Deleted all older blood token and redid the task, gnome still handing it back

Attempted to hand into the gnome in tofs no luck there either.

Dem, I'm so sorry that it's taking so long. I'll GM build a necro and get him to 73 to try it. I'll also look at the logic for it as soon as I answer another post.

Son of a bitch.

It was missing a single '=' sign (> instead of >=). I fixed it and will repop zone in less than 10min.

Death quest doesnt always update when killing the mobs. stuck on fiery watchers. tried camping new instances after doing that i got 1 update then it bugged out again

I'm a 73 necro with death rk1 and rk2 of all dots. Gnome won't take blood shard and tells me to come back later.

Managed to finish task after multiple repops now wont unlock rnk 2

Let me chime in here with another issue. 

I started the quest with a 77 Necro today and received the first task.  It sent me to ToV which I assume is correct (level based?).  I was able to finish all the tasks except one - Kill 5 Glimmer Drakes.  I wiped the dungeon twice and only received an update on 1/5. 

I do not know how many Glimmer Drakes, but it was many.  After the first run I started checking for updates after each Glimmer Drake kill and it was not updating.

the tov mob issue where you do not get credit has been around awhile. I think the glimmers in the beginning have a greater chance. Someone explained as there being multiple types of different mobs with the same name. Did not make sense to me either.. eventually  I got through all three ranks in tov. In any case, you need to farm v3 there..

That was the issue Zef.  Only the Glimmering just beyond ZI would cause the update.

Not sure if this is broken or not... I finished the level 1 this morning, did the sacrifice and got the message that Death had been updated, but... no death spell in the book and when I hailed the gnome again he gave me the same quest Blood Token.  Shouldn't it be Blood Token II or some such?

Just double checked Hate's post on what you need to know... right click Direct Damage/Magic/Death is not there.

well my issue seems to be oxyn sky drakes and fiery watchers. I figured out a few spawns that would update but seems that most dont. Doing the quest isnt quite the hard part but the issue of not getting the unlock from casting the spells on the squid is an issue. Though a fix to either one would drastically cut down on the time to invest in this.
