I've read your concerns about clerics not being the top healer compared to paladins, and I think I would like to change that.

What would you all think of a cone AE CHeal for clerics? It would have greater health than the aoe heal that clerics get now, but a longer recast (I was thinking of doing it on the epic to replace the crap that never gets used right now.)

Obviously I won't change anything without running it through Hunter, but... I would like to see your inputs.

When I was testing, it appears to last the same amount of (flawed) time that it did as a regen.  Flawed in that it lasts different times depending on if you cast it on yourself vs other people.  Appears to be the same as before though.

Only difference I can think of here would be that it would block other heal over time spells from landing (unless they are larger).

Most heals are direct heals. I don't think EZ uses the Celestial Healing line of spells for anything custom.

I will put it as a HoT today and see how that effects it. (type 100)

Two spell updates today.

- Enchanter's Arm buff fixed to increase melee damage properly.

- Thanksgiving pet fixed to increase melee damage properly. Does not stack with other melee mods.

Would you all be okay with changing the druid HoT to a percentage instead of making it a raw value? This would fix the issue with it healing for less but potentially nerf it into oblivion for low hp (< 100k) tanks unless the druid is 3.0 or higher.

Thats very true secrets, I was only posting up my opinion which falls along the lines of "if we get a stable source point where nothing is considered broken by the players and Hunter and we do not forsee the need for new commands" why not stop updating at that point.

As we all know Hunter has limited time to do stuff on the server and rare is it that he has support personal working with him. So instead of updating with the main svn every month or so as of late, and having several items break which spins the population into an uproar. Just stick with what works.
Esp dont see a point in updating when majority of the fixes resolve around live like content, bots and only provide this server with access to like #googleit

Im not saying the previous updates were all bad and stuff, we have access to stuff that we wanted. Do we really forsee the need for more stuff? Yes we can use seeds client here but we dont use any of the zones or graphics and SoF worked already. Marginal forward progress compared to the steps back.

There's been a few security fixes in addition to the things that add color. Most noteably, the tradeskill dupe fix that trevius put in. If he had not put that in and updated, we'd have over 11 billion plat still in the economy and more to come. I had a fix, but what if that diff gets messed up and we need to update because a security fix happens again and Hunter can't update because it was related? See this is where it gets complicated.

Not to mention the zone crash fixes, the stuff for the Underfoot client (since SoD is no longer legally obtainable) that made it fixed, and to be honest the changes that do get made are easily fixed by people with time to investigate them. I fixed the ranger damage for example and am going to work on fixing the rest of the things that are broken. Right now I think the brawler's charm works but is only useable for classes that have weapons with 1HB skill so I am going to try and fix that, as well as the ultimate charm effect is broken, very possibly anyway.

Please for the love of jebus and all that is holy, do not update ez server to emu project again.
What do we really gain by staying current with the project?
The last few months we have seen very marginal forward progress via keeping updated with the main trunk but we have seen a lot of negatives.
Classes are nerfed, not intended but it happened and nothing to date has reversed it.
Players are more unhappy then happy.
This could be a much larger post but seriously it just boils down to opinion and my opinion is this:
-Updating EZ server which strives to be a unique custom eqemu server to a code which attempts to mimic eq live servers is counter productive-


Hunter isn't a coder and he does not want to be dependant on me for his custom code. Since he doesn't have the time to manage the codebase, we use the EQEmu SVN.

Just look at THF's code if you want an example on why you shouldn't break off from the main project with coders with little time.

Despite whatever it says ingame this spell doesnt have a haste component(according to a fairly recent spellfile). The damage modifier portion is set incorrectly so that is will only apply to 1hd blunt weapons, the effect_base_valueXX field controls the limits on spells like this and when its set to 0, that is the limit for the 1hd blunt skill. In order for it to affect all skills, you need to make that field -1...

Probably going to be whenever Hunter wants to turn it off. We plan on making something on each holiday, and we'll reuse them each year.

Does anyone know what exactly the new pet does?  It said something about Totem effect with MQ.  But I have no clue what that means.

It basically works like this right now:

It casts a beneficial spell on nearby people that increases spelldmg and meleedmg by 15%. This effect lasts for 24 seconds, and is casted on a random person within 100 meters every 6 seconds. The thing that casts the spell lasts one minute. 1 hour recast.

It is going to be changed to this:

It casts a beneficial spell on nearby people that increases spelldmg and meleedmg by 25%. This effect lasts for 30 seconds, and is casted on a random person within 100 meters every 6 seconds. The thing that casts the spell lasts one minute. 10 minute recast.

The thanksgiving event is now active! You can find it in the Nexus to start the quest. Look for the gigantic roboboar, he's named "An EZ Feast"! He's got a beef with this big ol' chicken, and needs your help! This boss is intended to be harder than PoD bosses but easier than PoG bosses.

The reward is pretty nice and is only available seasonally around this time of the year.

EDIT: For clarification on the reward, it is changing with the 6AM reboot.

You will NOT need a new spellfile when the effects are changed. It will just display incorrectly under MQ2 if you examine the effect.

Ah yes, server events. I'm excited.

Too bad I just switched accounts, my single boxing butt is half naked and in the process of doing the epic grinds again.

Hopefully i'll still be able to participate w/o 3.0 + equiv. gear.

Due to the nature of the quest I wouldnt be too surprised if people help each other out on it. It's supposed to be fun, and the group gets credit for it, not just one person.

EZ never used this feature in EQEmu before but I am sure you will all like it.

Even I am confused a bit. Are some already existing spells and/or items modified? Or just source code? Maybe I'm too brain dead to comprehend.

Some existing spells were modified to stack.

Such as SE_DamageModifier. Cayartis added this functionality to code on SVN, which you updated to. I changed the spell effects back to their proper IDs (187 back to 185, before we had custom code to define 187, without the diff we did not but it doesn't matter now.)

Intrested in how those got fixed ?

The spell effect was removed, and Cayartis fixed the original spell effect that increased these.

Thus, that spell effect was no longer needed and it was changed to the one Cayartis fixed.
