Loottable broken from Airplane...


60 Tokens without one Essence ... and heared in /ooc that other got same problem after 70 and 100 without one Essence in last 2-3days

Airplane is still on loottable. Meaning I would have to had touched the loottables in DB, then waited for reboot. I have not touched the loottables for airplane as loottables, in general, suck.

OK, so both last night and just now I tried to run the Dranik mini to start saving buzzing berries for a Hatestomp aug.  Now maybe i'm just doing it wrong, but both times I parked my toons right in the "crack" in the wall in Lightning Spirit's room, and both times I got jibbed by orbs anyways.  After dying and zoning back in, there is a rock blocking the door into that room.  No amount of clicking or screaming will remove this rock, and there are no mobs to kill to open it again.  Thus I cannot complete the expedition to claim my berries.

Am I just doing it wrong or is this intentional?  It's pretty frustrating.

I've updated the zone to stay 'alive' longer. I'll also try to revamp the doors this week to fix this once and for all! :-O

Ultimately it will be up to Hateborne, with the thoughts of the server majority to make these tough decisions. We can either look at it from a logically sound point of view for the health of the server or we can look at it from a "I want this item and you shouldn't deny me it because you have/had it" ideology. 

This. I am asking for feedback on how best to handle a delicate situation. It seems like EXP buffs limited by 100% per level (70 0-100%, 71 101-200%, etc etc) seemed the least hated suggestion. :-)

Sorry but you're wrong on many points. If a player started today with a group of 6, and GSOA did not drop in qvic, there's not a chance in hell they would be even 10% done with their strikes/neck/SOA on tier without significant farming of SLS and essences. My point stated in the last post however, is that doing that significant farming at any point before level 72 and 3.5 is a collosal waste of time. I don't really see why we would want to discourage a new player from keeping their gear on tier by having such an inefficiency.

And lower tier content is, whether you want it to be or not (it's not up to you), severely affected and balanced by the GSOA drop rate.  I saved dozens of hours of farming myself just by getting lucky with GSOA drops and it afforded me with UW3 before I was in t5 and nearly everything else was on tier. If GSOA didn't exist for me I would have probably quit the server at the prospect of farming SLS and essences all day to keep my gear on tier. I don't want to ignore on tier gear and then catch it up 4 tiers later. That's bad design. You can't close your eyes to it.

Red and Orange Points: The assumption that Strikes/SoA/Mana-Necklace *MUST* be 100% on par at all times is flawed. EQ really wasn't about all "get all the things" every zone. Hell, EZ is so off course that it can't even really be considered "EQ" anymore. That being said, you can progress very well up to T4 without NEEDING augments/SoA/etc. I did it with a SK tanking, cleric healing, three wizards, and one bard. That's QVIC to T6 without Halloween pets, without UCv2, without Stonewall, and without Drake. At the time, wizards had only Yamakagi's Fiery Passion Inferno and then a REALLY crappy Kaldar's Heavenly Fire. No multi-ZERK groups, UC on SK and Hateborne (WIZ) only, and no strike augments until T6. This was well before plat bags, GSOA, or even really SLS.

I'm not trying to go all "uphill, both ways, in the snow" on you, but it's really hilariously easy to progress on EZ now. The mentality of "it has to be the up-to-tier" only really applies in the extreme high end.

Agro doesn't drop when you hover at zone in from death, so the mobs train there and you death loop till you somehow get out of it toon by toon.

On it! Created a scripted Fading Memories so it can be used for this type of thing. I'll reload/repop the zone when it's more empty. :-)

If you are looking at way to fix the server for the health, maybe you should look at the people playing on your server and not these changes. It's no longer why I play here and probably why some of the people sending me tells the other day about FH members will either have already quit or leave soon enough.

Actually, by the time I got 20 Qvic ess from mass pulling Qvic, I got 2 million platinum worth of box/bag off trash.

Funny enough, those box/bag were never seen again in CT and RARELY drop 6000pp bag in PoDragon. I can't recall any dropping in HoH.

QVIC is only supposed to drop lil plat bags. Also HoH and PoDragon should be dropping? Digging in.


QVIC had all plat bags droppable. This is a lil...overpowering and has been fixed. Halls of Honor, Plane of Dragons, and Cazic Thule all have plat bag drop chances now. :-D

On the Mask....I could potentially scale the EXP bonus allowed through scripting. Would take some testing, but limit the EXP buff similar to RoA system (0-200 L70, 201-400 L72, etc). If a player is L72 and gets 540% buff, it would fade and instead recast rank 400 (as that's their max receivable).

Great concept.  Love the zone, but time vs. reward just needs some tweaks.  At entrance T10 geared, I just can't see any essence on the list being faster in this zone that going to the appropriate zone.  Even T9. 

Can you get a few hundred thousand plat farming QVIC? How about SLS and berries? :-)

Where has anyone exploited anything? I agree with everything Hate has posted and am 100% on board. This isnt something that was due to anyone exploiting but something that has been needed to enforce for a few years now. Good job, Hate, even though I still hate you to the moon and back!

It would obviously make it harder as you said it's a joke without restriction. I'll leave it at that I guess.

Your point re: RoA 200 being harder w/o exp buff is valid but I still feel 200 is a low number to start the restriction. It takes very little xp to make RoA 200 compared to higher lvls.

True, but how many truly have RoA 200+ but cannot enter HoH?

Actually, I'll see if I can't get some stats this weekend using DB on the breakdown of where the numbers are. :-)

HOT BUTTON TOPICS!

Alright, I am aware this is going to start a storm but a lot of negative feedback has been flowing into my inbox. I'd rather address this as a server, versus backdoor "Hate did something on his own". I'll list each item and then discuss it a bit.



First, I'm hearing from several that would like to see buff level restrictions.
Second, I am considering level restricting the UWs to the appropriate tiers (i.e. you can't equip UW VIII before T6 or level 74).
Third, SoA/RoA/EoA needing to be level restricted. (BIIIIIIG stack of QQ emails on this one).




To hit the first topic, I'm looking at the BuffLevelRestrictions rule being enabled
. This means any sub 70 can't receive 70+ buffs. No EXP buffs, no Kraken, etc etc. Part of this is to address the concern of people starting, blazing through 1-70 and QVIC, then getting upset when they can't play without the buffs (resorting to buff-begging or burnout & quit). I would like to further hit this by limiting the EXP buffs by script and removing MGB access to the Mask of Experience to ensure QVIC players aren't getting 500% experience bonuses. I brought this up awhile ago to reduce overall EXP gains to address this, but was debated (and often attacked) for trying to fix a problem before it exploded. It exploded, I tried to prevent it. ::shrug::

Continuing to the second topic, I brought this up before and was met with harsh criticism. This time, some of those same opposing people are emailing me and calling for it. This will basically lock the UWs to those that can actually unlock them. As in the example above, UW VIII should not be usable if you aren't in at least T6, as you would need to be there to farm the essences for it anyway.

Wrapping up, after a dozen lowbies earned the Ring of the Ages Rank 1000 inside a week, my inbox exploded like the New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. I'm looking at restricting RoA by 200 ranks to 1.5 levels rounding up. I would also like to do similar things with the Earring and the Shield of the Ages. For RoA, this would look like:
