EZ Server

I was about to friggan imbue my 3.0 staff with an augment, and my GAME CRASHED IT CRASHED WITH my weapon in the bird bath and it's gone.  This no refund crap is BS.  What am I supposed to do?? HOW am I supposed to control a CRASH. 

This is really NOT happening. There needs to be something better then LOSING your weapon in the bird bath, if a DAMN CRASH happens.

Maybe if it's epics they can be restored. Easy enough to check log and see if there is logging on this server that shows stuff like this. If not well sorry to hear anyway you lost your 3.0 that sucks.

i believe best way around this would be screen shotting you have the item, and the augment before trying to aug it, and then screenshot in middle of adding aug. or fraps the whole time you're doing it.

I couldn't even screenshot in time.  That's how fast the game crashed didn't even have time to friggan think.

Well half the server saw I got my epic 3.0, and I am sure the server is logged daily so I am sure it's in those logs too. 

I'm seriously about to remove the bird bath if people keep crashing on it.

It's better them losing your EPIC 3.0 weapon dude.  Out of nowhere is just crashed, basically the message saying EQ has crashed.

Maybe remove it from the Nexus... I hear people saying the nexus crashes at times (although i've never seen it happen) and people can just use the FG/CG or Crafters Guild if they need to aug something... 95% of the time the person will be in those once they get an aug.

how could you go about making an alternate way of augging stuff if you did that? there's alot of precautions we could do to prevent this and get the item refunded that is, if you'd be willing to do that.

My friend is going to kill me all that work we did to get it.  or he did I should say.

The problem is that this just adds more new things to Hunter's plate for something rather minor. I think rather than suggesting that Hunter just 'makes' an alternative, maybe we as the community could try looking around for solutions. And I don't mean just put out random options like 'oh make it so we can aug using the magic box' but rather try to do some research and see what can/can't be done.

When people start out on EZ and ask for advice, everyone always says to read the forums (which is so very true). There was a forum post that you could get epics refunded if you had screenshots.

I have augmented and deaugmented TONS of items and have never lost anything. What do I do?  First, I don't use the bird bath in Nexus. Too many people. Second, I put the aug or distiller in the bath FIRST, then I put the armor or weapon second and IMMEDIATELY hit insert or remove so that my item is in there for as short a time as possible.

In summary, in the short amount of time you have been playing, I already recognize your name from ooc (and not in a good way). Don't make your lasting contribution to EZ to have the bird bath removed because you were the final bitching straw that broke the Hunters back.

Why cause I am a newbie and i need some help on things? Whatever man.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I lost a Warrior Epic 3.0 and two anger V augments.

I knew the rules about augs and what was required for refunds. I had neither so I went out and got another one.

Hey OP, I forgot to add this in my original comment but it's not as bad as you think.

You're now flagged for 3.0. All you have to do is kill MoW, there are plenty of people out there that will do it for you too. Gimme a tell if I'm on and I'll do it.

It's not like you have to camp 15 mobs and fight with other players over the 15 tokens all over again.

But I need the epic 2.5.

Nobody can help you on 2.5. It's a solo mission.

         Okay i thought i explained the birdbath to this newbie. I'm sorry he started this post. He has no understanding on how to use the birdbath it seems to prevent his items from being lost. Tho i am very sure i spent the time going over this with him. The birdbath is very much needed and the rules that are in place should stay as is. Even knowing it was all my work getting his 3,0 he knew from the start before he did the combine what could happen.  I warned him several times before i logged off not to do it.

        This is just another lesson he will have to learn if he wishes to continue playing. I hope he understands now tho not to waste peoples time on the forums as well in game. Thank you all again for your time and my apologies once again.

Hay hunter do we actually need a birdbath am no db programer or anything but couldn't the "Magic Box" do the same thing?. If am wrong sorry just ignore me lol

Before mr rot bot showed up I had a full set of qvic,tacvi,t1,t2 armor in the bank on almost all of my guys.

Reason: I lost one plate bp, two warrior 3.0 and a couple other random items of minor note.

Screen shots / Fraps are good. So is doing what others suggested which is aug in first then armor and combine quick as shit.

Well dude, it doesn't matter.

I was kicked out the Guild that I was in, because of a crash I couldn't control.  Yes it was a lot of work to get the weapons, but a crash I cannot control.  If I combined the wrong things, then I could understand.  It seems that the consensus is I whine too much, or too much of a newbie, to play on this server.  

However I don't remember when signing up for this server, in the message of the day was "If your a newbie, leave."

There was nothing in the disclaimer about the possibility of the Nexus bird bath crashing.  So, not going to deal with it and just not even play anymore. Easier that way.

There is no way in hell that I am saying, that I am not grateful for the help I received.  I am extremely grateful.  However that does not give the excuse to embarrass me on the forums with the above post Cracken said, and to be punished because of something that was out of my control.

Yes I ask a lot of questions, and I make mistakes.  Sorry I'm human.  If I whined too much, or asked too many questions, or asked to be in too many groups I apologize.  It would save heartache and burden if I don't play.

Progression on this server is so fast, just suck it up and look at it as a blessing in disguise. More stuff to do ;P

Wow...this server has really gotten bad with people so high and mighty that in a "Rant and Flames" thread someone can't "Rant and Flame"....

Go ahead and call me a newbie for my 6 posts or whatever I have and completely ignore this post as I'm sure the vast majority of you will (think high and mighty again here)...but frankly I DON'T post a lot because I'm well aware of all the high and mighty people that will flame me for saying what I really think about a lot of stuff.

You point newbies to the forums...yet when they post a message in the correct location you are all still too caught up with yourselves to understand that maybe, just maybe he had a right to post this and maybe that's all that was needed was for him to get it off his chest and he woulda got over it.

But instead he gets responses that he's just a newbie and to "go away".

Complaining's fine and dandy, jsut don't think you won't get a plethora of responses in all different styles. Taht's where the 'flames' part comes in.

Everytime you even go NEAR the bird bath, a giant wall of red text posts itself in your chat box warning you of its use.

Hunter even put in a Nexus instance that you can go into to reduce the chance of this happening. 

         /wave at revloc06. O yes the high and mighty cause thats how people see themselves when they put all that time in to get what everyone else got before them. LoL I don't know where your getting off saying that but i for one don't put myself in a position that i would think myself better then other players. A newbie is a newbie period. The forums are here for us to rant and rave yes but if you would take 15 mins out of your damn day to see that these things have already been posted by other newbies that came way before this new wave that is starting to flood in you'd see that your rants have already been discussed by others that were in the same position as you but did less bitching and crying about it.

          All these new QQ post about things that need to be fixed aka are wrong have long been in the game and we all have learned to work around it and struggle through to get to the goals we set for ourselves in this game. Thats why when we see newbies asking the same thing over and over again we say go read the forums. Not make a new post about your rant so your question or problems can just have a quick and easy solution. No. But so you can look back at what others have spent their free time understanding and trying to fix for others so these headaches wouldn't happen. These rants/QQ's are laziness in not reading rules, not taking time to go back and do a little server research, and overall plain lack of common sense.

           I for one have gave up alot of my time to help others that have needed/wanted to get things done. Never have i ever took a single plat from them or ask for anything in return. Some have stayed friends others have quit or just went on their newbish ways. I can tell you this from all my time helping others i have found that there are people that really want the help and others that just want to sit back like their watching a movie or something. Its a sad part of life but even after getting a head start in life or in this game people will just throw it away over nothing just cause they think they should be given more.

don't help anymore. I used to help out, but then it got to the point where it was expected, even though I was busy doing my own thing. So, I stopped unless I knew the person in RL.

There's a difference asking for help with something and asking for someone to come kill everything for you.

Cracken offered help to me, which I accepted.  I didn't take it for grantit, and thanked him probably every 30 minutes.  That probably got annoying but I made sure thank him after each thing he helped me with.  This all started because I lost my epic 3.0 weapon to the bird fountain, from crashing.  If you read my above post I was very grateful for him helping me. 

I shouldn't be condemned for mistakes.  Or embarrassed on the forums from his post. 

I should say, I shouldn't have to feel like shit because I made a mistake.  I make mistakes, I am still learning.  Not everyone has an adaptive personality to learn things instantaneously, it takes me awhile, several attempts to learn things correctly. 

But I digress.

I have seen people lose stuff in the bird bath only to be offered a complete run through to get their epic back. Not only that but they were offered condolences and helpful advice. Even more, people related their own stories to kinda let them know they "feel their pain". Difference between those posts and this one? This post was about bitching and moaning and bs this and bs that and how nothing is my fault. The majority of people you have encountered don't like you because of your attitude, not because your a noob. Remember, Cracken helped you when you were nothing but a noob to him, it was when your attitude became annoying that you became a nuisance. The being removed from your guild was likely because of the same thing, yet, you blame that on the server too.

The elitist bs accusations has been thrown around here and there at different times. It is usually (though not always) a sign of not having a proper argument/point. Just because you find an accusation to throw at people that makes people want to tell you to stfu doesn't make your point any more valid.

There's a lot to be learned in this thread.  I hope people take the time to read it completely and understand what is being said by both the OP and the people responding.  Leave your emotions at the door and just read.   8)

We point the newbs to the forums TO READ THEM AND LEARN, not just to take their OOC questions and post them on the boards without reading anything.  There is a difference.

Just a update, he now has his 3.0 back.  I spent a hour or so yesterday running him.

         Indeed he is the "shiznit" as you say. I still find it funny that with all the gear i got this newbie he wasn't able to act on his own but go back crawling to someone else. Just shows what type of person he is. Tho as a people i find that most are willing to pop a tv dinner in to the microwave instead of taking the time to cook a full dinner. My point laziness is not a substitute for noobness. Guy just wanted everything handed to him like it was suppose to happen. Guess he got his wish. Good job.  ;)

Eh let people play how they want to play. Frankly I was the same. After I was shown how easy it is to run up the progression ladder with help, I asked for it. However I got minimal to no help until 3.0.

Anyway, its not really anyones loss but his own he just got to experience less content. Its like the guy who plays the new video game vs the guy who goes out and buys the strategy guide for it before even booting it up and trying it.

All depends on play style. However, I don't agree with the whining. /punt

         Yeah but when his game play effects our/my game play it becomes a problem. He could of been the final reason why hunter took away a function in the game over his QQ'in. Then who knows what else could go wrong. Point is people shouldn't be allowed to play the way they please. But in the way in which the server community would expect them to play.  If people could play which ever way they wanted there would probably be alot more ninja looting and ks'ing. Then when/if this guy gets to the point where he's helping people he passes his game-play onto others ahh and the chain becomes unbreakable. So got a headache again.
