Title: Updates 08-28-12
Post by: Hunter on August 28, 2012, 12:34:11 am
Spell file 082812 is now available.

Player Races Illusions from LDoN Clickies 'should' now last forever rather than having to re-click things.

NPC to change player races is inactive for now, but might add it to EZ_Rewards NPC for 1 credit each on player races, and 5-10 credits each on non player races, such as NPC races.

Updated source code today, so you might notice changes in melee, spells and AAs. If things seem different in combat, don't freak out. Just post about it and we can work it out and tweak stuff.

Available changes can be found here:
https://projecteqemu.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/EQEmuServer/changelog.txt

Enjoy!

Hunter

Bringing the server down until I can figure this out.

Need to head out this morning too, will be home later.

Reading through the notes,

"==04/30/2012==
Derision: Fixed some minor bugs with Extended Targeting (if the tank/assist/puller had a target before you allocated an XT slot to that function, you would not see the target unti they changed target).

==04/29/2012==
Derision: UF+: Support for the Extended Target window (aside from the Raid target types).
Derision: Fixed Extended Target bugs where CurrentTargetPC targets were incorrectly cleared when leaving a group, and a CurrentTargetPC wasn't updating when they zoned in.
"

Does this mean we can use Extended Target windows?  Because It was the best ground breaking thing on Live.  It would be a great addition to EZ.

Not sure if this is the problem, but it seems to be a common issue for people upgrading code.

Will the extended target window just show up or do we need to add the UI pieces?

Trev figured it out...

Past Rev2145 you need to have global_player.pl in your quest templates folder.

Wish I tried that. I tried putting in player.pl and didn't realize it needed to be global_player.pl

I'm already half way through installing new stuff here to try different VS2010 + Perl Versions.

Will try to revert quickly and see if that fixes it. Been search and searching, saw everything I can think of except that post.

If it does work, I'll give you a cookie :)

global_player.pl seems to have fixed our issue.

lerxst2112, check your PM on forums here, I left you a reward via cd key to be turned into the Key_Master NPC.

Enjoy!

Have you tried turning your computer off and on again?

If that doesn't work, check the back of your computer and make sure all the cables are properly connected.

I was checking the specs on the end line for the rotary girder...

But seriously:
Magelo on the home isn't working.

Issues I've seen in-game so far:
LDON illusion isn't permanent, 120 hours or until you zone.
LDON illusion changes pets too (don't believe it did before) - although i like having a DE pet running around :)

Good things i've seen:
A few additional AA's available to buy, some are unavailable until higher level (71-80)

Just some of the things i've noticed in the first few minutes, for what it's worth.

...

That's what you get for playing a warrior. Seriously though, source code update shouldn't break one spell. It may break a line of spells (via breaking an effect), but it seems HIGHLY unlikely that specifically one spell would stop working. Could you specify how you can't hold aggro now?

FS VI augs are no longer aoe is this supose to be??  also agro seems to be a bit messed up my war with 1h no augs and my pali's with 2h no augs pull agro off pali with 1h and 3 fs VI augs never had issues before.

Title: Re: Updates 08-28-12

Uh what? No strike augs were ever AOE. The only aoe augs were anger Vs. Strike augs being AOE would be broken as all hell.

The only AoE paladins have ever had is Crusader Fury.

In regard to it working on pets, the spells from the illusion clickes were always targetable. They could be used on other players and pets. Playing an Enchanter in live, once targetable illusion AA was introduced, I was illusioning my animation pet all the time, or a charmed pet for a little fun.

Allowed for a few player exploits too back in the day.

120 hours is a permanent buff. Eventually the timer resets back to 120 hours again

Perm Illusion AA that rogues/bards/enchanters have would be better than reclicking on zone.

I much prefer a race change over a permanent Illusion. Reason being, race change bestows bonuses (iksar AC bonus and regen bonus ** regen not important**, Ogre frontal 100% stun immunity, etc...). Illusions do not aside for the minor bonuses a few of the spells produce.

Race changer though caused a huge amount of lag.

Also, saw this in the Changelog:

Quote
Kayen: Alternate Advancement Update: In the process of coverting most of the hard coded AA data out of the source and into the 'aa_effects' table
using live data. These effects are then reimplemented using the bonus system in the broadest possible way, most of these effects will
also be useable as regular spell/item effects. This will allow developers in the future to adjust, implement and customize AA effects
without requiring source changes. Beware in doing this, many AA effects that were previously either implemented incorrectly or with values
not consistent with live data will be adjusted to be as accurate as possible.

I know Hunter has said before that he has no interest in messing with AAs, but it does open up some interesting possibilities.

I saw mention of player race changes as well as non-player race changes being options.  Your suggestion for a perma race change is probably a good one for the racial bonuses as mentioned when changing to another player race.  Keep in mind that any gear that is not all/all may not function for certain class/race combos.  Also, if a player is perma race changed into a NPC race, I am pretty sure that will cause major issues, so it would probably be best for those type of race changes to be an illusion.  If you were perma changed to a NPC race, I don't think you could equip any normal player items (because all/all only encompasses player races), but I haven't really tested it personally.
