Obviously I'm not going to benefit from discussing this. I follow the rules, I just wanted to make it evident that not everyone on the server feels the same way after being lumped in with "the majority".

It's pretty obvious to me that Hunters intentions might be different but that the people who post on this thread are just rules lawyering and trying to harass people. I've seen some of these very people break the same rules they proclaim to be offended by in /ooc.

On a personal level as an American citizen I think that any prevention of free speech is obscene. I  think that there should be some expectation of personal responsibiliy for parents as well.

 Everquest has never and will never be a safe environment for children. As someone who started playing online when I was 15 when there was a substantially higher amount of enforcement I believe that no matter the effort someone will find a way to expose children to things their parents want to shield them from.  

Again I think that while the intentions Hunter has with this may be "good" the result is that people will take this as an opportunity to prevent other people from enjoying themselves under the guise that those players are doing the same thing to them.


Edit: A good example is happening right now. I logged in right after posting this to see Skeezy and Borsh talking about fucking kids and rape in ooc . I suppose they won't be reported because they're a little more established which is why I personally find this rule futile.

if youre getting unspecified error then just double check, hell even tripple check all 14 files are present and are the same size (expect the last one, .014). Downloading from 14 separate pages/links, one can very easily miss or have one thats incomplete. both of theses will result in unspecified error.

this was my problem i actually downloaded 5 x2 and hadn't noticed. seems to be working now. will edit after its finished


edit: new error, progresses to 27% and gives following information:

0 underfoot client - ezserver\sony\everquest\dragonscale.eqg
1 data error(cyclic redundancy check)

i hope whoever trades this guy gets scammed like they deserve because it's been ten years since i first saw someone pull this routine and it would make me laugh to know people still play into this one

Yeah digz i've dled 7zip i point it at the file tell it to extract and it gives a message of unspecified error. i've tried to extract it all on the desktop, all in a file, tried extracting it in a file. i redownloaded all 14 parts i redownloaded 7zip. it seems like its a permissions error with windows 7  but i run it as an admin and it still doesn't work. i tried using winRAR to extract the files and that didn't work either.

im having the same issue 7zip wont open up file .001 for me its giving me unspecific error message

It is just disheartening to run around trying to get charm upgrades just to see someone run by you with half the zone on them only to be told they are playing by the rules and they don't give a crap what you or anyone else in the zone is trying to do.
