Not that I know of. the cleric 4.0 does a heal/DD. Your not talking about the epic are you? the spell that i know of is just a regen, no idea of it does anything else. but to be honest we dont use druids other than for ROA as they just arent viable for high end content.

Best EQ memories

First server (povar) playing a barb war, being paranoid to lose sight of the tunnel back into halas because I would get lost. The first run through the Karanas, trying to get to the stupid aviak camp, binding at every town on the way thinking holy shit this game is huge. The run took us 2 hours and by the time we got there everyone had to camp.

My necro getting splurt on Vallon, laughing maniacally killing people.

The huge zone battles in the commons when Sullon first opened.

Being deleveled on my necro from 55 to 49 fighting neuts getting one of the cleric epics done for another evil guild.

Running the <Da Bashin' Iggles> as GM on Sullon, having the best guild ever that would drop anything anytime to come to someones aid, and who would pick a fight with any noot or goodie that happened to zone in. Regardless of level difference.

Starting my rogue on Sullon.

DING 60 THANK YOU !$&(* GOD ITS OVER.

being so hated on Sullon that when I was finishing my epic the whole noot team and good team showed up to block me in kith forest, having all of <Da Bashin' Iggles> <Hate> and <Ruin> show up for a 2 hour battle to clear the zone so I could down General.

All the colorful tells I would get after training noots in VT so they couldnt progress. /who 79... /who 35... /who 2.... /who 1. Woot, wipe, we have a winner!

Being trained and nuked by all the noot rangers and druids during Tunare event because they werent KOS, and still completing the event.

and last but not least, having the same great core group of players, that I met online, that have followed me through servers and games and beyond, that Ive played with for over a decade now.

Way to many great memories, and great friends. I think that playing on the PVP servers made the community even stronger then the normal servers, and its made for lasting friendships.

You can NOT beat the cleric for heals. Druid/pally for pad heals, but the cleric is top healer. Viv group heal is a must, more so the higher you get with rampages and what not hitting your group.

Druids have the nuke/root thing off their stick, and a nice regen with the druid regen II, but it cant even come close to the cleric belting out 250k heals to the group. IMO druid is still not a viable class, still ROA only.

Point being Walk2k is that Hurley was in the right, and the guy KSed him. Frankly him coming and posting about it is more kin to a public service then dragging some guys name through the mud. At least now the community will have a heads up if dealing with this individual. You actually owe Hurley and apology for jumping down his throat.

In MY personal experience I have been in Sro and southk plenty of times when there was people running around and not at the spawn points. Ive seen people goofing off doing who knows what killing spiders and giants and generally just messing around, or maybe even sight seeing. What I havent seen in my experience is someone that actually was actively waiting to kill terror or quill NOT standing right on top of the spawn point with a group ready to go because its so contested. Common courtesy as you put it, where as for us adults is the proper thing to do and is SOMETIMES followed, is no where close to the norm for this server. If anything its severely lacking.

And on a side note, Im actually one of those people out "sightseeing". Yea it may just be me running around, but I spent way to many years playing EQ and a mind numbing amount of /days played/hours etc in game, to the extent i would be more ashamed to admit the total than anything. So for me personally running around to old zones is very nostalgic and enjoyable. (even sro, god knows we all blew a portion of our lives farming those !&$!* Jboots). To this day, as lame and strange as it may sound, ill go sit in Neriak or Nektulos for awhile and just look around. It has a sense of "coming home" that is hard to explain, but I spent so much time there it gives me that feeling. Periodically Ill click my guide boots and just run through the zones to see all the old spots we spent year after year in and remembering the old battles. (I played on vz/sz so I have great memories of huge pvp confrontations). EZ is a very mild fix for a very old addiction.

I might suggest that you read the "fucking" rules:

NO KILL STEALING
Place nice here, and don't kill steal. You can hold a camp if you are not afk. When a mob spawns, you need to engage it, or else you will be considered afk and forfeit the camp. You can not have 1 toon hold the camp while waiting for your group to arrive. If your not ready to engage when the mob spawns, then your not camping it, and forfeit the rights to the camp if another party wants it. If a guild is actively buffing up when a boss spawns, then please give them about 5 minutes to engage, or else they lose the rights to the boss. If a guild spawns a boss thru a turn in quest, then only that guild has rights to the boss. You can't hold 2 or more camps at the same time, so if a group/guild is fighting a boss, then another group/guild is welcome to 'leap frog' and claim the next boss.

Naw, you wont lose the loot. Just lock the body, dont loot the book. The rot timer is usually 30 minutes or so and most people will get bored and leave instead of sitting there. As long as you have someone sitting on the mob no one else can loot it so it saves you from ninja looters. We had to do this all the time on Sullon. You may have to wait them out for a bit but I dont know many people that will sit there for that long trying to ninja something. And you can tell them your frapsings it (even if its a lie they dont know), and they will leave.

Loot the body with another character so you lock the corpse till the timer releases it for the cleric.

There are a lot of very nice people on this server. And there are a lot of tools on this server. You will have to weed out who is who sadly.

Well we lost 3 more t4 bosses last night to zone crash. Im at a loss at this point. We turned off everything in the filters, its not client based, we have 2 folks that are running titanium and the rest on SOD. This only occurs in this zone. We kept our raid to bare min so we had no more than 10 people in zone at one time (No idea if this helps but at this point we will try anything).
10  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Air - Crash on: March 08, 2011, 07:09:09 pm
Yes, please fix this. or move the zone. Our magic number for what ever reason for POA is 8 toons in the zone. Any more than that and it takes a dump for some reason. Very very frustrating.

I believe it was Xiggie that said to turn off the filters, Ill have my guys try that tonight and see if it helps. Over all though this blows, we are trying to get into t5 and cant get out of t4 with the zone dropping every few.

And on another topic, for HOH, it reeeeaaaalllllyyy blows to toss down 100k plat, to have the thing crash, and you cant get any more guildies in cause its locked.
11  General Category / Suggestions / Re: PVP Custom Zone on: March 03, 2011, 03:12:48 pm
Xiggie couldnt be farther from the truth actually. It depends on the rule set and mind set (policing) of the server and the community that drives and dictates how PVP is run. Ive played pretty much every PVP game out there from the EQ live servers, DAOC, SB, and WOW etc. Vallon on EQ live had one of the best and most vibrant PVP player bases with rules that were followed, or characters that were universally punished for not doing so (AKA PnP policy, loot'n scoot and gear retrieval etc). Rallos was much the same way, though I didnt level through high end there only through 30s.

Sullon was where I played the most and ended my live career. That server did draw the worst, and best, of EQ. I can easily say that POS server had some of if not the most skilled players in the game, I can also say that it had the meanest most ruthless asshats to ever log into an MMO. But, it was  the single most fun MMO exp playing on sullon that I have had on ANY game, hands down.

PVP people tend to have a different mind set really, they like the added edge of never really being safe, which was why sullon, even in its wretched state, was still the ultimate PVP server to me. No rules, no gm intervention, no level limit etc etc. Full out tits up battle every day. Hell just trying to run through a zone could be catastrophic.

However, things are much different now then they were then. EQ live at that point was the only MMO and you had to adhere to the rules (even player made rules) to stay on the server. Now a days people can be pricks and just reroll a toon, or change servers, or games for that matter.

PVP on EZ would never work really, in less you implemented something like Reed posted, either play a PC type character, or alter toons that zoned into the zone into some sort of a level state. But the class imbalance on ez would quickly lead to havoc.

Player drama is a moot point. Hunter runs the server and looks for people hacking and is running content. I have never seen him try to babysit the community, that is left to the players. People will talk crap in OOC, have their feelings hurt, bring it to the boards for a full out flame war and the rest of the world will ignore them and keep on going. Ironically enough, sounds like what we have now, a bunch of tools cursing each other out in OOC bringing it to the boards....

Point being, like always, if you dont want to PVP. dont go in the zone. Its that simple.
12  General Category / Suggestions / Re: PVP Custom Zone on: February 25, 2011, 10:27:10 am
Thats another problem, resist for the casters. Most people with tier gear will have max resist (with aa etc) of 500. If your mez is unresistable and your nuke is you will stand around with a mezzed PC and some poor wizard with a 40k mana well trying to off someone.

Or, like you just said it will be a turkey shoot. That wiz rain spell in PVP would be horrendous, not counting the AE one. You could take out groups of people.

I love the idea mind you. it wouldnt bother me any of they turned all the zones into PVP zones. More so because if you dont like it you can get a guild instance to escape. However, this would effectively run off new comers to the server getting griefed.

Another idea, kunark and velious both had huge zones that would be great for pvp hunting or mass pvp. Make all the mobs in the zone KOS and give them appropriate hps and damage so you cant just waltz through the zones, and put in a reward/punishment (for lack of a better term) system. The reason Im for more of the punishment system (coin loot, loss of exp what ever) is it makes people fight harder if you have something to lose, instead of just some random points to gain. Put in a level cap for the zones (mid level like 30-50) up to the high level of 70 only zone etc for fairness. I actually dont mind and really like no limit full pvp but most people cant stomach that.

again though, it would require balancing the classes closer for pvp, and disabling MQ.
13  General Category / Suggestions / Re: PVP Custom Zone on: February 24, 2011, 08:37:17 am
I loooooooove pvp. I was on VZ, then on SZ when it opened. And though Sullon was a cesspool of the worst dregs in EQ it was a blast to play on if you liked hardcore no rules servers. EZ server though, isnt even remotely balanced for pvp. the class spread here is worse then on live. (just think wizards or rogues one rounding folks basically). Also, you would have to find a way to disable MQ in that zone only. Hunting people with a map that shows you right where they are is kind of boring.  Any of the zones, big zones, would do. Sro (unlikely with terror in there) the commons, kith. Those were some of the sites of the huge pvp battles back in the day due to proximity. then they came out with the bizaar and POK and everyone just camped in there  Sad

Great idea though if it would be viable.
