I used the direct download link in the getting started guide on the sidebar, it contains mq2melee, and the mq2 section of the wiki also has a 'how to use mq2melee' section. This is why i was seeking hard clarification cos theres conflicting things posted different places and i just want to be 10 feet on the right side of the line edit: i have the download you pointed out and yes, no mq2melee. the wiki needs updated to that link and the mq2melee section erased, thank you for the quick responses and links! edit2: bad link is in this page: http://wiki.ezserver.online/Getting_Startedmq2melee section in this page should be also removed: http://wiki.ezserver.online/MacroQuest

General Category / General Discussion / Macro Legality Question

Are the following legal to use here:
MQ2Melee for melee ability usage?
E3? The macro used on servers like PEQ to semi-automate buff/rebuffing, melodies on bards, nuking/debuffing from casters?
if no to these, what plugins/macros are widely used here to manage control of 18-42 characters at once?

General Category / General Discussion / Raid group managment

Im having an issue managing a raid group using the client downloaded from the EZ Guide, the groups display, and anyone raid invited is listed, but the raid leader cannot assign toons to groups, or change any of the options of the raid group.
Is this a known issue? Is there some kind of workaround in missing? I would love to be able to move my bard around without completely disbanding and reforming the raid.

If you didn't think think it was against the rules then why did you name it slitchbap instead of bitchslap? Switching the letters like that is a common practice of those trying to get around the rules. Saying that you don't think bitchslap is a bad word is just bs. The only thing you are accomplishing here is making sure people get irritated enough to send your name on to Hunter.
Fair enough, Ive decided to delete the monk in question, when Hunter reads this thread(I assume hes reads most eventually), hopefully that will be enough of a self imposed penance if it was over his line(taking advice said earlier, had to ask, so I delete). One of my highest geared toons if that counts for anything(1.5) yeah I'm new, I really don't want to get off on the wrong foot lol. If you truly do want to discuss my standings on the level of obfuscation that warrants a word no longer being 'bad' (the answer to your question which I assume is likely rhetorical) we can take it to PM's or tells in game, because as you (and I as well, ide like to say) have pointed out that my opinion on what makes a bad word doesn't matter

NO BAD WORDS Offensive words in names or public chat will not be tolerated, such as anything sexual, racist, hateful, etc.
Players that break the rules might get deleveled to level 1, suspended, banned, or have all his accounts banned.
I am not sure how this is open to interpretation. It is common knowledge that cuss words are referred to as bad words. Just because you switch a few letters around does not exempt you from naming rules. Ive come across people in this life that think "Fiddlesticks" is a bad word, Ive watched childhood friends get grounded for calling a sibling "silly" as their parents said not to use such awful language. My interpretation says the name Slitchbap is fine, sure if you start playing anagrams, you'll find the word bitch, and slap, and that's the joke. But its not overt, and nothing I would label as a 'bad word'. But again, Im me, you're you, we all have our own lines where we draw at which words are 'bad'. And quite frankly our opinions don't matter, Hunters does. I hate to say it, but no, its not clear. At least not to me as Ive some seriously messed up definitions of "Bad words" over the years.

And I agree with you Fugitive. The thing is, this guy probably has an established toon, with time invested. He is nervous now cause of the banning. Before he did not think it broke the rules, and now he is not so sure. He just wants an answer so he does not end up in the boat the OP did.
And you are right, my posts are pointless. These guys can argue their own points.
This is exactly it. If the price of failure is losing all 12 of my accounts.. yeah, I want to know what the speed limit is, if the penalty is that high, it shouldn't be an unreasonable request. I honestly see no problem with my toons name, I think its light hearted and humorous, PG-13 at the absolute worst, and im really not expecting an emu server to enforce G rated chat/naming, I read the rules as "keep it PG and don't be a dick" am I wrong? Someone quoted the common sense part of the rules, my common sense says my toons name is just fine, but if im wrong, ide like to know it. It wont be the first time Ive been wrong, and $deity knows it wont be the last.

Now while I agree that his name was offensive, allow me to play devils advocate here and then explain my reasoning. "NO BAD WORDS Offensive words in names or public chat will not be tolerated, such as anything sexual, racist, hateful, etc. " Thats the official rule. It just seems.. vague and really open to interpretation. Sure, I think I get the spirit of it, but wheres the line in the sand? Is there room for humor? Can we get a couple examples beyond the OP's obviously too far name? I don't mean to imply that wherever Hunter says the line is, it shouldn't be there. I just want to know where it is. Would the name porkmaster violate the sexual rule? Off the top of my head. I would just love to see 3 or 4 examples of "this is too far" in the rules. Are we at PG-13? 16M? G? My pondering, and questions, are because I have a similar play on words, but a much more light hearted one(I think). I have a monk named Slitchbap, which I figured was a pretty amusing name for a monk, and was fairly certain it would be tame enough for an emu server. Now I'm not so sure, and I sure don't want all my characters banned

Hey! Listen!
I think I've finally come up with a short list of questions I would love if you vets could shed some light on.
First off, progression, I'm just about done with velks, and will be moving onto whatever zone the 65-70 quest NPC takes me to, this along with what I've been reading about charms, ROA and what not have me wondering;
What is the normal progression path?
When should I start working on a UC for my tank(s)?
When should I start working on the RoA?
When should I start working towards guild membership?
What classes should I get to 70 and what version should i get their epic should I get to in order to aid this? I have plans for a bard and shaman to make ROA and alt leveling easier, should I also get a mage for CotH? Velks is aggravating as all hell to get 6 toons into the kobold area, are there more zones like this?
Are there any quest/no drop items I should be watching out for while leveling up?
Whats the most efficient way to grind out AA's on your first run through? Or should I move straight into epics/gearing at 70 and let the AA's come naturally?
Thank that about covers it for now, although any other known 'gotchas' would be great.
Thanks in advanced!

Where did you get MQ2? If it isn't from MQEmulator.net, then you are doing it the complicated route. Did it specify anything more detailed? Most often, the macroquest.ini (or macroquest2.ini?) lists all the mods. Unless you are going to configure and tweak MQ2FPS. The default settings for it make the plugin MUCH worse for your gameplay experience (until a ton of time is spent with it). My macroquest.ini (pulled from my site): [Plugins] mq2cast=mq2cast mq2chatwnd=mq2chatwnd mq2emusearch=mq2emusearch mq2eqbc=mq2eqbc mq2itemdisplay=mq2itemdisplay mq2labels=mq2labels mq2map=mq2map mq2moveutils=mq2moveutils
The emusearch could probably come off, but it caused an issue with something (I forget exactly what). The cast plugin works wonders for passing across commands for everyone to gate or everyone to click speed boots. With both Everquest and MQ2, it's not necessarily a compatibility thing but a permissions thing. Make absolutely sure that you use the "Run As Administrator" on both MQ2 and Everquest. -Hate I got MQ from the UF Client Zip on your site. I did try both as admin, and as a standard user, no difference between them (as far as working as intended). The MQ2 commands where accepted without complaint from the client, but would appear to do nothing, including /unload Also, While I do have Titanium 'Installed' through add/remove programs, the UF client is just unzipped to D:\EZServer\UF Clients\Minimalist and MQ is located in D:\EZServer\MQ2
