The modem I had would connect 5 wireless PCs out of the box.

The limitation you may encounter would be coverage area.  You may find a provider, but their 3G may not cover your particular area.  For instance... AT&T is my cell provider, but their 3G did not reach the house I lived in.  I had to contact another provider who did have coverage in that area.  Just check around with each of them and see who offers the best deal and coverage.

I did some checking around thanks to your suggestion Kwai and found that Verizon does cover 3G where i live. I put in the order to overnight MiFi, i should be getting it tomorrow, so we will see what happens now.

Kewlio.. just keep an eye on your bandwidth consumption.  They provide you with software to check it.  Once you exceed your monthly allotment (and they certainly hope you do) you will be charged an ungodly fee/minute.

I don't remember the number now, but I had to limit my on-line time virtually to checking email and then never DL a large attch file.  I stopped playing EQ live with that move.  So, caveat emptor should be your watch phrase for the next few weeks.

5 Gigs is the monthly limit on it, and i have it set to roll over to another 5 gigs if I ever go over it, which i'm pretty sure i won't ever do. 10 bucks per gig, so cheaper than the satellite and will find out very soon how reliable it is going to be.
