This is, I'm certain, a stupid question, but since I'm technologically illiterate, I'd rather ask and err on the side of caution: when I unzip the Titanium Spell File, should I unzip it to the spelleffects folder? And should I use the Custom Titanium or the Custom SoF Spell File? Please let me know. Thanks.

If your using the Titanium Client, then unzip the spells into that folder, might be

Program Files/Sony/Everquest/

but no subfolders for eq, just its main directory.

Might want to rename your spells_us.txt file that you already have, in order to back it up / save a copy of it.

Hope makes sense.

I am also a comp noob. Going back to the question, after the rename of the original file, should i leave it in the eq folder or just save it somewhere else?

You can put it anywhere. The point of it is to be able to revert back to the original spell file should you have any problems/go to a server that does not have a custom spell file.

Why?

If you're using the Titanium client only use the Titanium spell file. If you're using the SoF/SoD/Underfoot(Live) clients then only use the SoF spell file. Do not change the names of the spell files (with the exception of the default spell file which you can either rename to keep it from being overwritten or move to another folder somewhere safe. That way you have a backup to restore to if something goes wrong.)

Step-by-step layout of the procedure:

1. Download the spell file that corresponds to your client as shown above.

2. Rename the spell file that is already located in your Everquest directory or move it to a random outside folder where it'll be safe.

3. Drop the new spell file into the EQ directory.

4. If your EQ client was already open when you did this you gotta log ALL the way out then log back in.

5. Play EQ
