This isn't particularly related to eqemu at all but I'm having trouble booting up to windows.

I haven't installed any new programs, I've tried restoring to an older restore point, but each time I can't get past the first screen you see when you turn on the PC(Windows Logo).  I'm running Win 7.  I can boot up in safe mode with networking, I've run Malwarebytes and Spybot, found some minor things but didn't help.  I tried loading AVG Free 2014 but it doesn't load, and it won't let me uninstall it. That makes me suspicious.

tl;dr can't boot past WIndows Logo, halp

try this http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/startup-repair-faq#1TC=windows-7

can also do a chkdsk in safe mode and see if any bad blocks,

try booting with only mouse keyboard and monitor attached
make sure there are no disks in cd rom or floppy if you have one.

look at event viewer and see if it shows anything from when it first shut down.

could also make a bootable cd and try and run antivirus from there if you suspect  a virus
