I used to play EQ1 from beta up until Planes of Power and then I quit after that. I was wondering how far ahead expansion/content wise is this server and how come no one uses the "alternate improved model graphics in screen-shots". Is it not available on this server?

Main question is do I have to buy the game to be able to play on this private server because I was thinking about playing with a few of my friends in other countries that won't be able to buy the game in those places.

Also, can anyone clue me in or send me in a direction where it tells the expansion orders/and what contents came with which and what is available on this server.

Last, minus the raid contents are most dungeons doable with 2-4 people or need full group? I remember my necro and friends bard just kiting like crazy.

I thought the Steam SOD client was actually Underfoot and thus not recommended due to all kinds of issues with that unsupported client?

I switched to SOF because I couldn't find a reliable source for SOD and the Steam SOD (actually Underfoot) had way too many issues for my liking.

The one you download directly from Steam is Underfoot and is slowly becoming supported, but requires servers to have very recent source code.

The one you obtain by other means is SoD before Steam changed to the Underfoot version.
