Nah, Play what you want. You never know when something will change and your favorite class will become the new 'must have' class. When I started my main was a Paladin. And everyone laughed at me for not being a warrior.  |

The man doesn't always hold me down. Some can't afford it, since I charge extra for that.
Don't worry B: If i ever get off my ass your dream will come true with gnomes being npcs only on a server. (But then again so will all the other 'player' races.) Debating an 'npc race' only server, at least then you dont have to worry too much about what gear looks like on you.

I'm new to EQ emulator, and this server is first one i'm trying out because it sounds perfect for what I was looking for (Fast exp, loot, good population, etc etc).
I just started playing a monk, is there any specific reason why monks suck? I played EQ from 1999 launch to 2003, and I always heard monks were great.
What makes them suck on this private server?

Monks don't suck Gallus, just the OP  Monks have arguable the best DPS at the end of the custom content. |

At the time I wrote this monks dps capped out under 10k while some other classes ranged all the way up to 60k. Now monks top out at 70k+ dps. They are extremely useful end game.
