so im kinda at a loss here i switched from vista to windows 7 and got everquest up and running again but  then when i copied the server spell/zone files im no longer able to log on, after i click to join ez server it loads then sends me back to log in anyone have any ideas?

If you put it in the 86 directory that could be your issue. Try the programfiles that does not have the 86 on it. I always install stuff to the non 86 directory

It's possible, but I installed to the x86 version of program files and it works peachy here.  W7 64-bit.

My only issue was having to switch resolutions on my display to avoid a black screen upon launching EQ.

Try using EQWindows or WinEQ2 for not getting a black screen.

I ussually install games to a different directory on a different hard-drive, but that's just me. I don't like to have my Program Files/x86 polluted by un-neede stuff.

Others have run into issues with not being able to update their spell files or ui files when they are installed to the 86 directory.
