Hi,

Ever wonder in ooc when people state requests like "Anyone can help me run 1.5 / 2.0 / qvic runs etc??".  Then being nice you help them or u charge them for it ... no big deal right??

Than u all proceed to start an instance ... go in pull trains hoping to clears as fast as possible ... so that you can continue to do your stuff or help another newbie.

Ever thought that maybe one maybe might fraps u?  LoL u never know =P

Regards

Thats why if you do help someone you do not know at all...
Screenshot just after you enter the instance after doing /time. Shows you were in an instance and  grouped with said person. A little precaution goes a long way.

This is not a problem.

If you are well enough off in game to be able to develop other players character instead of your own then you are well enough off to afford a group or guild instance to provide that help.

It is discourteous to PL someone in a public area where other players are working on leveling.  It is a particularly ugly form of rude to take spawn away from one lower level player to give it to another in a PL situation.

First come first serve imo.  Regardless of situation.  As long as it follows the server rules.

I got "yelled" at in pofire for having a train of 20 mobs in public because "its ___holes like me who ruin the game for others".  And was told to go get an instance.

It's a 2 way street imo - they can just as easily get an instance as well.   If they cant afford it they should go do leveling quests to sell the bags of plat INSTEAD of fighting in pofire where you get zero money / loot.

And yet the idiots wonder why they are "poor".

My 2 cents if it matters  Tongue

edit - and 20 mobs in pofire is hardly being greedy

Everyone needs to re-read the OP...
He is specifically talking about being in an instance not pub. He is merely talking about how if someone wanted to grief you by fraps-ing you while you helped them out.

So many threads get derailed because people don't take the time to read and comprehend the original topic.

Right - My apologies for derailing the OP - Was just commenting on the part i quoted because of how asinine it was to think that a person gets xx spawns because they are new.

I know you can train all you want in instance cos nobody else is there to fraps u or screenshot u ... but in the case of helping a newbie or "newbie" ... i think its better to be more careful.

Something to ponder and let u guys take note of this issue as it can really happen .. =)

(Someone who is evil hearted, creates a newbie char, ask for help in PoTimea ... and of course, those kind hearted will c8 instance and rush them in 10mins by training ... then get fraps and unknowingly gets ban for nothing)

To add contribute to the discussion and not derail Tongue

wouldn't the person frapsing have the offending person show up on the group window? Or is there a way Hunter can look in the logs to see that in fact it was only player A and player B in a group instance with the intent of being set up?

I guess I'll start screenshottin the "instance420 will expire in 7 days" message w/ the player in group to cover my own end.   Kind of sad and makes one wonder why they would bother helping random people if they are at risk of this.

This is all given that it is a legitimate way to get someone banned

If they fraps you with the ui off and have you targetted....

Thats why my original post stated easiest way to cover your behind when you help someone you do not know. Yes its a sad day when you have to take pre-emptive precautions, but just so many people with nothing better to do than grief others.
