Ok so I am not an extreme advocate for finger pointing, nor am I going to do that on this post.....however I would like a few things explained to me.

1.  Tacvi- I pull first mob.  I pull second mob, then someone runs in and grabs the level 8 boss and ganks the rest of my stuff.  I just assumed the zone was considred yours once you engaged the first boss.  He did however offer me ALL the leather that dropped for my paladin.....ugh.

2.  LDON-  When the zone is empty is there still a 10 mob maximum?  I was approached when I had a train of about 15-18 mobs because I know I don't wanna get more than that because someone might zone in and I don't want to take all of the mobs.  I was asked to stop and I told him i was just doing it while the place was empty and i'd stop.  he then said I was lucky he didn't have fraps lol.  I don't know....seemed excessive, but I'm gong to get instance from now on.

3. Plane of Dragons-  I have heard on the grapevine that you are not allowed to loot mobs that are not yours.  well duh.  But does that apply to mobs that groups have left on the ground and moved forward?  I was gunna farm the aug pieces for my newbie warrior, and just didn't wanna get in trouble by looting a chest that no one was around, but maybe someone still wanted or something.

Ok guys, a few points that i'd love to have answered if you could.

Happy hunting !

I know it is very uncool to zone pull Tacvi when others are in there 2. according to the rules it is NEVER ok to pull more than 10 in any zone that the public can enter (custom zones that is) 3. If you didnt kill it dont loot it. Period (this will cover your ass and keep the drama down)

Ya I guess that makes sense on the 10 limit.  I'll just have to get an instance.  The Tacvi thing sucks, but I guess it is what it is lol.  Hour respawn...let me watch some southpark or something.
Drama sucks so i'll kill my own dragons I guess LOL

1. Leap frogging is frowned upon it's not wrong but a dick move period..

Fix- Use Instance.

2. More then 10 mobs in LDON is bad, it is a custom zone..it's been heavily discussed here and a lot of guilds have got bad press from fools in their ranks because of this.

Fix- Use instance

3. Don't loot mobs that you didn't kill period this has also be heavily discussed... doesn't matter if it's the best loot you have ever seen in your life.. let it rot, it's not worth it if someone SS or Frapped you cause you looted something they were running an ALT to loot or whatever.
.
Fix- Only loot your kills or your groups unless you have permission from the killer to loot corpse.. I.E. Don't even check it.. out of sight out of mind.

Ask for looting most people will tell you to loot away after then get what they want from the corpse..

  • No exploiting
  • No warping
  • No bot / afk farming
  • No bad words
  • No spamming
  • No kill stealing
  • No hording Tiki's
  • Guild Quest camps
  • No ninja looting
  • No trains
  • Do not crash zones
  • Do not share accounts
  • Use common sense
  • Play nice and don't grief

NO EXPLOITING
Do not exploit bugs in the game.

NO WARPING
Our server flags people in our database for warping, so don't do it.

NO BOT / AFK FARMING
Do not use any programs to attack npc's for loot or exp, or go afk pet farming.

NO BAD WORDS
Offensive words in names or public chat will not be tolerated, such as anything sexual, racist, hateful, etc.

NO SPAMMING
Do not spam public chat.

NO KILL STEALING
Place nice here, and don't kill steal. You can hold a camp if you are not afk. When a mob spawns, you need to engage it, or else you will be considered afk and forfeit the camp. You can not have 1 toon hold the camp while waiting for your group to arrive. If your not ready to engage when the mob spawns, then your not camping it, and forfeit the rights to the camp if another party wants it. If a guild is actively buffing up when a boss spawns, then please give them about 5 minutes to engage, or else they lose the rights to the boss. If a guild spawns a boss thru a turn in quest, then only that guild has rights to the boss. You can't hold 2 or more camps at the same time, so if a group/guild is fighting a boss, then another group/guild is welcome to 'leap frog' and claim the next boss.

NO HORDING Tiki's
If the Tiki is up and you were there first, you have 5 minutes to use a Crystal to spawn the boss, or give up the camp to someone else. After the boss event is over, either succeed or fail, then you must give another group a chance to spawn the next boss. If multiple groups showed up at the exact same time, then try doing a /random to see who gets first round for a boss. Do not pull trash to Tiki's or set up camp near Tiki's for killing trash, or train the Tiki areas, cause that will be considered griefing and training. EZ Server is policed by the users with fraps and screen shots. If you think another group is going to grief you and break the rules, then make a video with fraps, preferably before you even start the event, to show the whole story. Users breaking rules and caught on video will be dealt with, and possibly banned.

GUILD QUEST CAMPS
Same as other camps. You can hold it as long as you don't go afk for more than 5 minutes during the time a mob is up. Do not loot corpses you didn't kill, unless the person that killed it expresses to you that you can do so. I will start making 100kpp instances for high demand and over camped items.

NO NINJA LOOTING
Don't loot mobs that don't belong to you unless the person/group that killed it gave you permission.

NO TRAINS
Do not make a train bigger than 10 mobs in a custom zone. This does not include pofire, which is considered non-custom. You can make any size train in non-custom zones. Do not purposely train anyone in any zone in order to kill them or any other reason.

DO NOT CRASH ZONES
Not not try to crash zones.

DO NOT SHARE ACCOUNTS
Players that get banned have their accounts linked together by IP. If you allow someone to use your account and that person breaks the rules, then your account will be linked by IP and banned as well. You have been warned.

USE COMMON SENSE
Just because I haven't listed a rule, doesn't mean you can't get banned for a certain action. Use your head, You know right and wrong. Don't be an idiot or you'll get banned.

PLAY NICE AND DON'T GRIEF
Do not harass players thru actions or words. Let them have their mobs, and don't spam them. If try to ruin the game for others, then you'll be removed from the game.

OTHER NOTES

Players that break the rules might get deleveled to level 1, suspended, banned, or have all his accounts banned.

Users police themselves with Fraps since Hunter works a lot of hours IRL. You can find a copy of Fraps very easy on the internet.

Be sure to get your easy to use copy of fraps, and keep the hotkey ready to record people. If your going to down an important boss and feel that a player may grief you, then record the fight. I know videos sizes are huge. If the boss event goes without problems, then just delete that 500 meg file that was created to record it. Users police themselves on here. Screenshots are nice, but hard to prove that someone traveled with a train since screenshots are well, static.

These rules are subject to change. Please check them frequently cause ignorance of the rules will not prevent you from getting banned.

Hi Giggity

The issue of Leap Frogging in TACVI is an old one.  Here are some posts from the past around the issue:

http://ezserver.online/forums/index.php?topic=273.0

http://ezserver.online/forums/index.php?topic=836.0

http://ezserver.online/forums/index.php?topic=1264.0/

To sum up:

1.  TACVI has special rules.  Hunter has stated in the past (in posts and in ooc) that the first person to engage a mob in that zone (regardless of the order) has the rights to all the bosses.  Essentially:

2.  NO LEAP FROGGING ALLOWED.

3.  Regardless of people's opinions - if someone leapfrogs you in that zone - fraps it and send it in.  Hunter will introduce them to a fairly large implement he likes to weild from time to time.

Hope that helps.

I am not a huge advocate of trying to get people banned, I have shared that in the past.  However, I have payed alot more attention to the actions of people on the server since I had the talk with Xiggie about self policing and can really see why it's so important.  I'd really hate to have to fraps someone doing it so I hope that this post can at least inform people of the rules so it will stop before more people have to be banned or suspended for a simple violation of server protocal.

I hear you mate - I think common sense should always pervail in the first instance.  If you find yourself in that zone and someone does that to you - have a chat to them first.  It may be that they don't read the forums and don't know the rules.  The fraps would really only be a last ditch measure when all other avenues of diplomcy have failed.

In my experience it's really rare that individual won't respond to a friendly chat.

Peace

Dude, this has been hashed out many times.. Leap Frogging TACVI is a dick move but no where has hunter ever stated it wrong. (I'm against leaping hate it!)

Find the quote and post it if so. This TACVI stuff comes up about every 3 months.
(you can do a search by user and put the search "Tacvi" in to display every time hunter made a post on a Tacvi or said something about it)

But nevermind the petty shit the solution is just use an instance... with the changes that hunter made with the insta-instance item... no reason to even have any drama at all

It was on previous forums and a couple times a long time ago Hunter said it in ooc. What I mean by long time ago is when PoD was the shit man. With the advent of instances though the whole tacvi thing has become less and less relevant. Honestly I don't know anyone who has been banned for it in a long time. Reputation can go to shit though for it. But that largely depends on how people behave with it. If you skip to the end, bypassing someone who has already started the cycle and are like, f u noob the inc shitty reputation. However if it was unnoticed that someone else was engaged or you simply didn't know, coming here and saying so goes a hell of a long way. It really is all about your attitude toward people.

The tacvi rule* has its own special place in ez because Hunter has not re-clarified it in the rules that made it to this forum.

Yeah, I really really wish it was put in the rule set. Creates too much controversy without it.

Hey Fugitive

/agree 100%  Leap Frogging in TACVI is a real scum bag move.

Quoting from ooc is always difficult and ends up just being hearsay without substantive, quantifiable proof.

Point taken.

With that said, I do feel there was information written about how TACVI was a special case with different rules.  As you suggested I  had a quick look and discovered that that information is no longer there.  Indeed - Hunter appears to have edited the rules.

I was present when Hunter was talking about it in ooc and my comments reflect what was said that night.  Again - without logs you can take from my comments what you will.

What does survive is the following (in Hunter's rules):

If, as you suggest, we are to follow the balance of what we can find written - then the letter of the law is clear:

1.  You are welcome to leap frog in TACVI.
2.  It is not a scum bag move as the rules invite this style of play in all zones.

Interesting huh?
