I am debating what I should add as my third box.  I currently run the traditional pally/war.  My pally is full t4/uc and war is full t4 and will have his uc before i seriously work on an alt.

I was thinking a monk so i could down T3/T4 bosses faster but i feel i might run into healing issues with 1 paladin.  Also thought maybe another paladin to give me more heals and a bit more dps or maybe a cleric for alot more heals, but i think the cleric might only be useful if i am grouping with other people and it wouldn't have a large impact on what my small group could accomplish.

I'm kinda looking for a set it and forget it type of char so I am open to all options.  Hit me.

Zerker if you want pure DPS

BST otherwise.  The reason a BST is a great add is the combination of slowing and DPS.  When the mobs hit less fast, your existing heals will keep up better.  You just have to remember to recast the slow spell onto your warder (less maintenance than a dedicated slower).

This is probably what I'm going to do for my 3rd

I was under the impression that slow doesn't work on mobs past BoT. Has this changed?

zerker for dps eh?  i feel my war is enough aoe dps for what i'd be fighting in T3/T4 and possibly T5 since there aren't adds there.  I havent done parses but I think monks are much more dps on single target than berzekers and if they arent it should be a crime.

I also believe slow does not work anywhere near the tier of the game I am talking about so is a beastlords dps greater than a monk?  and i dont mean for a fresh level 70, I will be getting this alt T4 and at least a 41 charm as well as augs.

A monk would be an excellent source of dps. With a uc and fully auged they top out at 72k dps on the practice dummy in the 2.0 zone. Slow does not work past BoT. I don't know exactly how much dps a bst is with full augs and a uc. I believe the pet is somewhere around 40k by itself. The problem you will run into there is keeping the pet alive. I favor the monk because he is who I go to when my warrior dies. They make a great off tank who is easy to drop off the agro list when your warrior gets back in. I use this tact with mcp, t5 bosses, it doesn't matter. This is of course with a full T4, uc, fully aug'd. Monks are extremely resilient and don't require backside replacement near as much as other classes.

this is why I'm always willing to be wrong ;-)

Thanks for the info.  Is there a list of what classes are fully supported by the Devs on this server?

I concur with Xiggie, go with a monk for fire and forget dps. Or you could add a rogue, they are fun to add to your army.

As for the BST, I replaced my 4.0'd full t4 BST with a monk. The pet was just a pain to deal with t4+. (Even when you have the bst and pet attacking from behind) Good DPS when the pet was alive and buffed with BST buffs. But too much micro managing to be truly effective when you aren't playing it as your main toon.

As for adding another pally for healing: If you are only planning on running 3 toons, then chances are whomever you end up grouping with will have a boxxed pally as well. So might be better overall to just add DPS instead of healing.

True, as long as you get the spell "Ward from work" spell and keep it cast on him permanently Tongue
