Just about to get my first character to 70. Necro.

Is it possible for a Necro to solo through 2.0 or further? I'd like to take him as far as possible before I have to figure out all the nuances of multiboxing (a whole new world to me)

Just wondering if I should bother or if I should move on to the next character in my box army. Was thinking a pally since they appear to be a popular class in boxing groups.

A careful necro should be able to make it decently far. Exactly how far I cannot say. I will say that it might be wise to go ahead and start dual boxing so you might get the swing of it early.

I don't know how strong the necro 2.5 pet is, but I kinda doubt you can solo qvic with it. I also doubt you'll be able to handle Master of Weaponry on your own with only your 70 pet (which allegedly is stronger than the 1.5 one?)

You can definitely solo any qvic boss with a necro 2.5, if you are a smart player. I've been able to without issue.....just need to know how to handle the spawned adds.

And ya.....MoW is a bear. Even with a 2.5 it'd be a bear. TT is easier by far.

What gear should I have before I start working on 1.5? All bosses in Time and the bosses that drop the books can be tanked by the lvl 70 necro pet?

Get some AAs and you can tank them yourself with your 70 lifetap. Make sure you keep Healing Focus on.

What is the best strategy for a Nec soloing in HoH?  Can a Nec take down a T3 boss alone with just a 3.0 epic?

Which AAs would u suggest? Forgive my ignorance but I quit EQ live long before I had a chance to focus on AAs so a lot of this is very new to me.

All of them. Simply play the game and you will advance them. My SK has ~20k unspent and I'm a relative "lowbie". Gear up in Plane of Time (or Bastion of Thunder), then work get comfortable in LDON4 or LDON5. LDON5 will drop the charms you need specifically, LDON4 has a higher drop rate for cards/coins if you can kill quickly. Just burn away at LDON4/5 and you will be golden.

For more info on LDON: http://tinyurl.com/ezcharms   (or http://ezserver.online/forums/index.php?topic=1461.0 if you don't trust me)

Also, does improved healing focus work on lifetaps? I thought this was technically a damage

Yes, charms for dmg and healing both work on lifetaps. Healing focus doubles the healing of the lifetaps. If you want to boost it, a necro with enchanter spell: Ancient Vampire Thunder and an Oracle charm is a force, just stock up on HP.

I'm currently working on my UC, shield, range for my necro as well as my small army I just started making.

Also, make sure you purchase your level 70 lifetap. With the level 67 version and that one you can double tap mobs. Both are instant cast, around 5 second recast each and do 3000 and 4500 damage respectfully.

With Ancient Vampire Thunder and Oracle charm at rank 3, I can crit heal for around 330k hp. With UC it'll go up based on it increasing dmg which in turn increases healing output.

Also, the 2.5 pet can do qvic if you know how to use Death Peace and /pet hold and assigning targets properly.
