i scrapped my T2 wiz for rangers and shamans for T3 Sad  Might be better now that the mana cap has been lifted but have not tested it yet.

Wiz /w t3 nuke + manastone + constant heals gives about 8k dps, way more than rangers of equivalent gear.  Most dont choose to go with the wiz because of their constant need for babysitting. But they are worth it. Seeing a t3 spell wiz drop pod trah to 44% after one cast is sexxxxxxy.

meaning you should probably wait til you have a "main" in T3 already before making one, otherwise you'll have a painful road ahead of you if you're making it your first char until t2, at which point gear will be Wiz specific.

I'm not able to two box for some reason (keeps crashing, maybe a win 7 issue?) so how would a main help?  do you mean passing down tradeable wiz gear?  otherwise its pretty tough to manage?  trying to understand the import of "babysitting."

thanks Smiley

As said in the other thread...

If you are using 2 chars from the same account it WILL crash.

You have to make a SECOND EqEmu acct and make new chars on that acct in order to multibox.

Editing - You have to setup SECOND acct on your current EQEmu acct and make new chars on that acct in order to multibox. (Right?)

Ah I thought that meant having a separate LS account on the same EQemu account, didn't realize it meant a whole new EQemu account entirely.  Gotcha, thanks!

It DOESN'T require an all new EQEmu account until you expend your first 3 logins.

Thanks Dany...didn't realize that.

Edited previous message.

Okay, now I'm confused.. I do have a second Login Server account under my EQEmu account, which is what I am using to dual with and it crashes.  I thought you meant it would solve if I made a second EQEmu account entirely, but now thats not what you are saying?

And I guess this has gone rather OT from the viability of wizards, but feel free to throw in some comments re the "babysitting" phenomenon if you have insights.  Smiley

3 accounts per 1 eqemu account

if you need more... create another eqemu account.

You should check out the EQEmu forums for some of the Win 7 troubleshooting threads. I'm running on Win 7 fine with multiple toons and the normal client. Each toon is on their own login account.  (As mentioned above you get 3 login accounts per EQEmu account).

I just came back to the server after about a 10 month+ break.  I made a Wiz and got him 3.0.  I have to say compared to my other 3.0 toons the Wiz is much more dependent on a group because of other classes having health regen or a crazy pet.

Basically the Wiz's dps so far I would not consider great versus my Rogue with on par gear. But it actually not as terrible as it looked beforehand and has gotten better.

I definitely agree that Wiz takes alot more time to be worthwhile than alot of the other clases.

I would like to see some changes to the Wiz epic. First off I dont think the right click MB should consume mana.  You regen enough at this point that you will be able to cast any spell almost immediately afterwards but you probably arent regening enough that you will get full mana back before using MB again.  I suppose you could click manastone a bunch but you would be further dependent on external healing/regen.

Also the ratio isnt the best, 3:1, considering it can't crit and doesn't benefit from focus. It looks like when you get T3 spells it wouldnt even be worth using.
