I have started to multi box some, I have 3 accounts. At the moment using laptop and PC, generally 1 account on laptop and 2 on PC running wineq2. My problem is the second account on the PC (the one not live and following) runs with massive lag, runs into walls, doesnt follow properly etc.

Now I have a media box under my TV which is over kill, dual quad core, 4gb ram and an ATI 512mb 4850 HD GFX ATX card. I think I am going to use this for my EQ machine (I rarley whatch TV and seem to EQ all the time again now).

I have had my finger off the pulse as far as graphics cards goes, I want to spend about £200 thats $300-$400 US on a decent card for it. Something I can run 2 stable accounts from with zero lag.

Recommendations please! Shocked

could buy a 9800 GTX+
its an Nvidia card. 8800GTX is good as well, especially for EQ lol, and cheaper of course

If you are using /follow you will prolly lag out either way. I have heard people complain about multiboxing with pc's that are way way over kill and still lag out with /follow.

As for video card I agree on the 9800 or 8800 nvidia. I am running a 9800 right now and used to have a 9400. The 9800 works extremely well but the 9400 always gave me problems. Upon reading reviews the 9800 and 8800 both out performed the 9400 by a large margin and last much longer too.

i have a single 9800GT 1gb asus n i box 4 n dont lag out to bad

trick i found to negotiate corners is turn around and move slowly n watch where they walk n adjust accordingly

make sure your bot following you has enough run speed to keep up.. or use ur slowest character to be the main person you run with.

if you really need a fix you can use mq2 n the /stick macro but i have no idea how to set that up

Get Seeds of Destruction client.  Edit eqclient.ini and change BGFPS to 60 or so.  This will greatly improve /follow on background eq windows.

However, /stick (need mq2) is much better than /follow, even with new client.

I don't think its a video card problem. I've boxed a couple of times and using /follow I've had the following character run in huge circles.

The only complaint I've heard about /stick is that it will sometimes trigger a warp warning. Depending on who is looking at logs, it may get you banned.

If you want to get a kick ass card at a budget .. there is absolutely no better than 1 or 2 of these in sli... seriously.  http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=8023&Itemid=1... only bothered to find this link.. mine have 2X 1 gb models.  I paid 200 euro for 2 of these on ebay new... cheap as chips .. very high resolutions run great..
