when did you get your first UC?

Just wondering what content you were on when you decided you needed to get the UC or just decided you felt like grinding it out. My group is currently epic 3.5/4.0s and T2/T3 geared. I've been spending a majority of my time (which is only a few hours a week) on grinding out the UC not because i feel I need one (I can beat all T3 bosses, haven't tried a T4 yet) just more for the sense of accomplishment.

Once I geared up my BST/MAG/NEC group and got a Shaman with Kraken, I had enough damage to hunt down Shadow semi-effectively. But it's been far more effective slowly switching out pets for a monk, and shoving augs on my BST and such. Once you can tank kill shadow within about 3-4 minutes, it's probably time to start on it. Otherwise, just keep building up the damage...

First off, FORGET ABOUT SHADOW!
Heavens, Hate, Abyss, Sky, repeat. Only fight Shadow if he's in your path. Once you start chasing him around you'll kill too much time.

Did my first UC mid T3/4. After that the next 4 were cake.

Yeah I wasted time on shadow for a while and realized it wasn't worth it pretty quick. Are Heavens the only ones who roll for charms twice?

Yes, but I have had good luck with the others I listed above. + a good amount of pp that comes with not remaking instances. Since yall are working on your first ones you dont kill fast enough to wipe the zone so the heavens will be up by the time you're done with sky. Use a 3 day gi & stick it out for the durration. Make out a plan that works for you & stick to it.

I sucked it up and got one before starting T4. Then again my tank is a SK, who probably benefits the most from a UC out of the 3 tanks (if actually tanking)

I got mine when I started into T3 and it took 30+ minutes to kill a named and I didnt see the point in getting aug's if the damage was going to be hampered by not having a UC.
