Found a guy playing old EQ music on a keyboard... and then got on a YouTube string of old videos

Anyone have any other old treasures to share? Vox/naggy stories, old screenshots, etc...

or even old EZ memories/screenshots of the earlier days

So many EQ memories, starting with the early days where fishing was an actual way to earn money in the game.

Fast forward to the original Jboots camp, I stayed awake for over 24hrs straight in line there only to fall asleep and miss my turn on loot, luckily I woke up shortly after and the people there agreed to let me have the next one.

Next up was Fear and Hate, the amount of time and deaths spent for an entire guild breaking in there was crazy.  Was the 2nd mage on the server to get his robe from Hate and was in the top 3 geared off and on for years.

Move forward to the Planes and all the joys they brought, the big deal it was to beat the Rathe Council in PoE, that was a crazy event, then the marathon that was Time. 

I could go on and on, but those are some of my top memories.

Roaming Everfrost, killing bears for the white pelts so I could do the Karg quest. The very first time I was able to solo a vengeful soloist (damn, I was uber). Traveling through BB to get to Qeynos Hills so I could kill rabid bears...and dealing with that bitch Holly Windstalker.

Doing the langseax quest so many times I actually became KOS to the Halas banker.

Running from Halas to Freeport at level 9!! OMG!!

My very first raid, which was the Mistmoore castle.

Zoning in to Fear the very first time, at level 33, back before the level req, to loot rotting Lustrous Russet.....and lagging out because of 3,297 level 3 ogre corpses just inside.

Tons of others, but those hit me first.

My best memory was when my guild teamed up with 2 other end game guilds on Rallos Zek to kill the Sleeper. We almost accomplished it the first attempt, till a GM despawned the sleeper. After a ton of lies told by the GMs saying they had nothing to do with it, they agreed to not intervene if we attempted again and we killed it. Crazy the amount of people in zone, lag was insane. But with our uber strat(zerg and rez) we did it.  good fun.

I did the Stein of Moggok quest at least 20 times... got it down to a completely efficient event, sold them for 250p a pop - finally made enough money to buy Golden Efreeti Boots... so my wizard could have the sweet yellow boots.

I remember the white bear pelt quest too in Halas, was a great way to gear a new warrior =)

Those damn vengefuls - had to constantly watch your back in Everfrost.

I remember fighting in Southwall (what they called one of the camps in the eastern portion of Everfrost) in a group killing mammoth calves - listening to Creed Human Clay. That album still reminds me of that area.

My 1st memories were back in the beginning when a friend and I were killing bandits in the karanas, when we ran into a bard with tales of exp and loot in a far off land of the commons. We were scared to make the trip but this female half elf bard in shiny blue armor and a twinkleing aura said "Not to fear, I have bard speed and will whisk you to safety". On we went across the Karanas, up the mountain path where a false step would drop you to certain death. On through highpass and the scary Kithicor Forest. Through west and east commons dodging hill Giants and eyeing the Orc camps, only to arrive at the wonderful city of Freeport. Quickly getting a bind and with a deep sigh of relief, we had made the long journey across Norath.

Exploring a new zone at a low level for the first time. Dying. Sneaking back to the corpse and dying again. Worrying about my decaying corpse.

The first time I fought a dune tarrantula. The first time I interacted with another player.

First time I used a merchant.

Running across the continent.

First time I died to a hill giant / sand giant.

First time I killed one.

Befallen.

Innothule Swamp.

Kelethin.

Lockjaw.

Jboot camp.

East Karana bridge.

Fear. Karnors Kastle. Crafted Armor. Cobalt Armor. ToV.

For EZ:

Seeing crazy stats / gear for the first time.

Epics.

FG quest.

LDON and getting a charm to drop back when it was ultra rare.

Discovering HighPass and then doing Alpha loot in HighKeep

4 man camping HoT when our guild was still raiding it.

Camping Trak's layer for the 2 big golems for a whole day trying to get our shaman torpor. Turning around after a big pull to find Trak spawned and ate us.  Tagging along with a raid to CR.

A full day fear break in and epic fail.  Almost deleveling past 46 and not being able to go back in.

Plane of Air raids over a weekend.

That time my friends logged into my main (24 wizard) and gated to Cazic Thule, then deleted all my food and drink and used all my mana. I couldn't get out, and stopped playing the character.

Halloween 1999, doing the opening of Hate event....and the Battle for Kithicor. Being awarded a Enchanted Feir`Dal Long Sword and the title "Hero of Kithicor" at the end.

Tackling Mayong Mistmoore (GM event) with some uber friends before Kunark, and the ensuing CR fest....stacks of corpses at z in after necro summons courtesy of Thott back when his necro carried that name.

Werewolves! Werewolves! Werewolves! event in West Commons, the zone crashing because it was so crowded.....PoHate and Sky gear dropping from orc pawns.

Kunark opening, racing for 60. Taking on a GM controlled Venril Sathir who roamed the zone and killed anything in his path.

So many cool things we saw in old EQ we just dont see in MMO's anymore. The Verant Sony team was really hands on, and devs just dont seem to do that anymore....though there are some glimmerings of it in EQ Next/Landmark.
