prob not interesting to most, but if any p99 people are around, we're waking the sleeper and abandoning the #1 guild immediately after

TMO is now Forsaken
Ingloiurious Basterds is now Rampage, they have been the #1 guild for the last 2 years or so and do not get along with Forsaken, big rivals.

Rampage is now disbanding while on top after 6 months of domination since people want to move on after waking the sleeper.  It's a very different raid culture on P99.. waking up at 4am text messages with 30-140 people in teamspeak and a boss being pulled to camp 5 seconds within logging in, its very stressful at end game due to the raid scene.

Yeah the end-game is super overpopulated... but I guess that's what would happen when you re-create a game and give it's progression timeline a 10x slower than natural speed... with all of the knowledge of 15 years in wiki form. All on one server.

Instancing would simultaneously ruin p99 and solve all of its problems.

The P99 admins are the problem. They like the player strife. If they wanted to actually fix the server all they would need to do is increase the spawn rate to match their increased population. Mobs on classic were up far more often due to the population and the constant repops.

Well the era is not irrelevant. zerging with level 65s PoP gear/spells/buffs is different than zerging with 60's Velious gear/spells/buffs. Also AA's.

RMT is going to skyrocket now that all these top-tier guys are quitting.

I remember on my server (Tunare) on live when they did that crap. Talk about pissing off the entire server population. I was so damn pissed that I was spitting blood out of my eyes for days. And of course they just wiped over and over, etc, then no more of the primal weapons or the scared mask, etc.

I have always thought that entire Sleeper storyline was a mistake on SOE's part. An event that can only be done once and changes the server forever afterwards, what a bunch of bullshit.

No, I'm still not spitting blood out of my eyes over it decade or so later......

The funny thing about it on p99... is that they woke the sleeper... and will literally NEVER be able to kill him. They just did it to do it (which i guess is understandable.) But now for the next forever... all of sleepers loot dropping guys are gone.

just for lulz I guess... that and e-peen

at least on live there were further expansions that trivialized or matched sleeper loot... now it's just gone forever

Afterlife woke it on Mith Marr, but they actually didnt want to, and tried preventing doing so for some time. Sadly a Euro guild leader had a mad hard on for doing ANYTHING before Afterlife could.....including a move that would make the server weaker and less interesting. When it finally looked like that Euroguild would pull it off, they stepped in and did it before they could. Heh....I remember it well, I was in NToV that night and that bastard ran through the zone and wiped everyone in it. Fortunately AL was nice about it and warned everyone when it was gonna happen, giving us a chance to camp out rezzers.

And I am of mixed thoughts on the mechanics of it.....on one hand I agree, sucks to basically completely, permanently crap up a zone just because you wanna see if you can do it. On the other....this was one of the last moves SOE did that one could respect: consequences for your actions, and motivated competition, even if just for bragging rights.
