New Samsung EVO 850

Ok I got my new SSD in. Removed the old HDD and installed new one. Set the Bios to boot from CD. Installed my old HP recovery disk.....BOOM! Since the HDD was the last thing in my system that was from the HP I had the recovery disk will not load onto the new SSD. Other than migrating the old HDD to the new SSD, which I was told could cause problems, how am I to get a Windows 10 OS on this new SSD? I really dont want to go and buy Windows 10.....so I just put the old HHD back in. Any tips on how I can get it to work? Will Microsoft send me just a copy of an OS on disk.....I still have the product key code.

I just downloaded from MS and install on a fresh SSD, was free, and think it still is
Just use your existing key

Ok got everything up and running!This thing is like lightening! Just have a few more things to work out to smooth things out but......if ya'll aint got a SSD you REALLY should get one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used a program to clone my old hdd to the new one.

You can, but much better to start clean imo
And the migration tool that comes with the Evo's sucks

I used a 3rd party one which worked, but just didn't feel right, so downloaded the clean iso from MS
Still runs perfectly well now all set up right, and fast as hell

Well, I used something called EasUS backup, free. Total time from starting the clone to rebooting on the new drive was about 15 mins, and it was like nothing changed, still had all my programs and settings etc, it is just faster..

I got my samsung EVO 850 over 3 months ago. I've several random blue screen of deaths since install. It's setup as a secondary. Makes no sense. had no crashes like this prior to the drive.
