Sounds like corrupt files or possibly mq2 crash to me, where did you get the client? and what client is it
try loading eq without any 3rd party programs, mq2/wineq etc
If it still crashes I would recommend downloading the rof2 client via the "Getting Started" link on the left column
All you prob need to do is update the spell files, not sure it has the latest ones or not
I'd agree with Chief on this one, seems like you have a client crash occurring. If you would like help with it on the forums, post the contents of your "logs/dbg.txt" file on the forums here and we can take a look and see what might be going on with your client
