Are there any plans to change the Stonewall effect on this from "Increase Melee Mitagation 15%" to "Decrease Melee Mitigation 15%" so that this is worth using?  Has been broken a few years...... Huh Also the halloween UW's are kinda ganked up as well.... Roll Eyes

I only have IG pets and haven't read the details in a while but does angryface reduce stonewall? I'm confused by the wording because "mitigation" means making something less severe and it seems like you would want to increase that.

I always assumed that was by design and angryface was meant to be an offensive buff, while IG a defensive buff.

angryface is supposed to be an offensive buff, where you deal more damage but take more in return.

No it is supposed to make you take less damage but reduce overall hitpoints by 100k....has been broken for years. Hatebourne was confused and did this on a few items when they were revamped (if anyone remembers warrior epics when they went to aug format)

If the point is to take less damage, then I would think you would want it to say "increase mitigation" and not change from increase to decrease.

Or do I misunderstand how the language translates into the coding? If you are meant to take 100000 damage and you increase mitigation 15%, you are increasing the degree to which you are making damage less severe, so you would take 85000 damage.

Assuming we're reading the item effect correctly to begin with... (the item says increase mitigation 15% which sounds good but I am unsure / for comparison IG says decrease by a NEGATIVE 17%)...

Negative HP makes sense, but negative mitigation makes no sense. It makes the item worthless because the only time you would be okay with negative mitigation is when the enemies are trivial - and no one needs additional DPS when the enemies are trivial for obvious reasons.

15% MORE mitigation (meaning take less damage) is probably what was originally intended (thus we just need to confirm it's working), and if it wasn't intended that way then it should be changed regardless.

 Shocked

This is exactly why Hatebourne made the snafu on how it was written. It is backwards of what it does.

The item effect adds 15% more spell and melee ability damage in exchange for you taking 15% more damage. the item works fine, you guys just dont understand it.

Angryface Familiar seems to be doing all sorts of weird things:
The mitigation seems to be absent as per "/say stats"
Darpey's mitigation with IG is 78%, with Angryface it's 61%

The description of mitigation is unclear as IG uses a double negative, here is IG vs. Angryface:
IG: "Decrease Melee Mitigation by -17%" (decrease by negative 17)
AF: "Increase Melee Mitigation by 15%" (increase by positive 15)

^ Taking these negatives into account, it reads that IG ought to do 17% mitigation, and Angryface 15% - not sure what the intention actually was?

Also - As per rumor (although I can't see it on the description) Angryface is supposed to do 200% to spell damage

I ran a DPS Parse using Gamparse on Darpey on the QRG Practice Dummy for 2 minutes with IG and AF
IG: 7m
AF: 6.5m

... They're still within the margin of error I suppose, so I'm not saying that AF is LESS damage, but it's certainly not significatly more.

Thanks!

On tooltip, it's backwards. The Insane Goblin REDUCES melee damage taken by 17%. Angryface INCREASES melee damage taken by 15%. As for the spell damage bonus not working, we'll look into that and get it resolved. :-D

-Hate

This has been brought up before and Hate's response was always that the item is working as intended and that he was well aware of both the benefits and the shortcomings of using this item.  The idea behind angryface was trading off more damage output for taking more damage in, as noted by blastfamy and others.

Sounds like Hate intended it that way... and we all know Hate never made mistakes! Grin

Well then I guess EZwiki needs to be corrected and this is just one of those items that wont be used.....trivial content is the only place it will be likely used...and with trivial content you dont need a 15% increase in damage....retarded way of thinking on an item but what can you say....I always thought this item was broken like many others....I stand corrected it seems.

Been trying to get a ezwiki account for months not sure anyone can create new accounts on there.  Sent email out asking about it a few times.
