Getting ported to zone in LDON

Is there some code or something in LDON that ports you to the zone after a certain period of time. I was camping a boss last night and right as I go to pull him I realize half my group is standing at the zone-in.

Yep, after a certain amount of inactivity / movement, you get ported back.

Uxt's (now) famous quoted text is that his DPS was so bad, he was fighting Chaos and the fight took so long, he was ported back to the start, lol.

Just move your chars a pixel every 5 mins - give you something to do while waiting for the boss to spawn.

it wont be changed its there to prevent perma afk camping on bosses it doesnt take much out of you to tab over to your boxes and move them 1 step every 5 minutes Roll Eyes

It's not about being able to do it. It's a poor design.

Let people afk camp, it's easier to catch them and ban them.

The reason I quit playing WoW and came back to EQ is because I COULD camp something. There's a reason there's a respawn timer: So I know what time to come back if I decide to step away.

Regardless, even when moving and keeping out of the "afk checker" I still got pinged on my ranger and bard simultaneously. I had been moving them every minute.

Turning left or Right or Attacking doesnt count as moving, you need to take some steps forward and backward.

It is suppose to be 20min but it might have gotten changed I dont know. I never leave my shit when I am clearing LDONs.

It's fine, I understand why the system is in place. I'm merely stating it's a poor system. For a server that prides itself on policing itself it's strange to see a 5-minute afk timer in place in this zone.

I don't think it would be so bad if it timer was longer. 5 minutes pretty much means I can't leave the computer for any reason.

It really is a piss poor system, there isn't any what ifs, ands, buts, this, that, blahblahblahs about it, the system really does fail when boxing, I mean I still move my characters to prevent them from being ported, but srsly, I shouldn't have to tab over to a bunch of screens afraid that my healer for some damn reason is going to be at the entrance. I can understand the system when you actually got points for killing stuff but if there was anyone that was afk killing bosses for stuff then can still do it now, all they have to do is put into their script to move so and so this much every so and so minutes so I agree with OP, but hey, can't really do anything if Hunter doesn't want anything to be done with it heh
