Ok just started playing today, and have reached level 30. I figure its time to set my monk up with some weapons, can anyone with experience playing monks make a suggestion?
I have been googling and browsing various EQ related sites, but I am unsure how similar eqemu and live servers are with drops/quests.

Use barefist with epic(9/16 irc), till you get ancient prismatic weps in mistmoore then replace those in dulak which will last till BoT/time.

Farm some plat and buy fabled knuckle dusters from the noobie merchant. tHose are epic until bot

Leveling is fast, like a day to 70.  My first toon was a monk and I did mm and bought a fabled kd and then got a powerlevel from a kind soul in BOT.  Soon I had another toon, my druid who helped me go to POT and now I have monk, cleric, shaman, druid, paladin all with 3.0.  It can go fast so don't fret!

Nah wasn't concerned, was just curious. I haven't played EQ since I quit about 3 months after Kunark release...so how many years is that Wink

Not up to snuff on what gear is good and whatnot. So as I experiment with stuff I am also asking questions from experienced monk players.

(BTW bought 2 fabled knuckle dusters, gotta love those level specific quest npc)
