Anyone know of any good web hosts? Im not looking for the  "top 10 lists", because most of them are gimmicks and/or pay to be ranked in the top 10. I just want an affordable web host that I can use dreamweaver or expression web to upload to. It'd be nice to have a few features like cheap(ish) domain registration, decent bandwidth, ability to host streaming audio and video, etc.
I'm really looking to experiment a bit with some web development, not using any "site builder" or "any dummy can set this up in 5 minutes! THIS MEANS YOU!!" type of thing.

It depends a lot on your budget.  If you just want solid webhosting www.hostgator.com is the way to go.  If you need a dedicated box and your budget allows it, www.softlayer.com is hard to beat.  Full root, dedicated box, and they have shit tons of bandwidth.

this may or may not be within the same realm of discussion here... but i was thinking about taking it upon myself to make an EZ Server Wiki... kinda like one for my old server ( link here http://wiki.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php/Main_Page )

i would do the busy work of collecting items, screen shot items, cut and paste them into the wiki under hyperlinks, etc... to make the community information more available. just dont know how to go about doing it. any thoughts?
