I'm not sure I understand the AFK script too much other than clearing some zone lag in nexus and sfg. Those parts are great. Is there any chance we can have a zone we can go in if we need an extended afk and the script not take place? Just an idea, if anyone cares to elaborate on it a bit feel free.

Sounds good but when you really start to think about it. I don't think many people would use it plus it would crash all the time if people did use it cause of all the people afk in it... So kind of a win - lose situation I guess the subject is debatable.

Why have a place to go afk for an extended period of time. Why not just camp and then log back in when your back?

Yeah, the whole point of the AFK script is to relieve some strain on the server. Some people leave TONS of alts logged in. Do you remember Nexus before that first AFK script was in a couple weeks ago? There would be 40+ dudes just standing in the middle for hours, clogging up crap.
Doesn't matter where you are, you are still taking resources away from people that ARE playing.
Just log back in.

The whole point is to keep people from eating bandwidth by being afk and not actually playing on the server. Designating a zone to be exempt from the afk script would null the point of the afk script.

Actually I think it's a great idea. The zone should just disconnect everyone in it every 20 minutes or so

"The AFK Zone" Could use the sunset home zone for the new zone 100k instance, lasts 1 hour and uses p1999 bandwidth in the process .

Seriously though, considering upping the afk script to 2 hrs instead of 1 hr so that people on a 1 hr fight or camp won't get kicked. Probably would then only affect people that fall asleep or go shopping, out for over 2 hrs. Nothing is set in stone yet, still a work in progress as always.

Hunter a 1hr 30min base timer is perfect (my opinion) and it being a random timer from 90-120 min would be ideal. Rumor was you were looking into better bandwidth but then that will just encourage more people to box more and afk more characters. In a month or two it gets to the same point we are at now. Server is popular and its got a healthy population. A little over a year ago this server had a max pop of about 120 online and these days it hits 500 a lot of the time. Way to go.

The one hour has helped a lot. A 30min beer run almost doesnt work =P. The hour at least is appreciated thanks!

Major idea here that might buck the system and all but how about logging out for the beer run. Oh I know I know, it is much more fun to leave your toons gagled up in the nexus.
