Bleeding to death

I keep getting stuck in "Bleeding to death" paralysis due to various NPC spell effects and I am informed by OOC that if I "Just update your spells file properly!!" it will stop this happening.

I have downloaded and unzipped the most recent ez_server_files_dl.zip file into my main EQ directory, but I'm still having this issue.

Is this WAI, or does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it?

Just a quick thought, did you just put the extracted folder from the zip into your EQ directory or did you extract the contents of the unzipped folder and put them into the EQ directory? Stupid question, I know, but sometimes unzipping a folder results in an unzipped folder and not each of the individual files in the original zipped folder.

I already considered that. No, everything is in the root EQ folder.

Do you have the Angryface Pet buff? Coz it gives -100k hp buff..

Did you ever find a solution? This is happening to me, also. I've re-downloaded the spell files and the ROF2 client linked in the wiki and front page. The only way to get rid of the effect is to kill EQ and log back in. That sucks since it happens ever 5 dragons or so.

Had a little look at this, was curious to see if i could duplicate and see what i could find out and give Akka some info

So i took a lowbie toon into PoD to get poisoned
Got the Minor & Major poison from the T1 & T2 dragons
Went back to my Guild instance and removed all armor to speed up the process

Once the poison took the health to 0 and started going into a negative i got the bleeding to death syndrome
The UI Locked out and nothing was accessible

Here is one thing i noticed, If i just targeted the toon with any other toon the health went back to 100% and started dropping again
When it went to negative health again i just left it, and went to -743% health and stopped there

Once the poisons ran off, the health started going back up 1% a tick, so would take a while to get to 0
But re-targeting the toon with another brought the health back to 100% instantly and then was back to normal

Not much but hope it helps

So for now i would say don't zone out of PoD with a poison on unless you can cure it, just let the dragons kill you

You probably extracted the zip incorrectly...

Everquest\ez_server_files_dl\spells_us.txt is probably where you put the file if you extracted it wrong... just make sure the spells_us.txt gets placed in the base Everquest folder..

Not saying you did this... but its a probability that you fucked up

(ive seen plenty of people make this mistake)
