Hey guys, I have been reluctant to play for the past few months.  I built a new PC  (7950x CPU, B650 mobo, 7900xtx GPU, etc..) and since I have had it, every time i log into EZ they are all moving at like 50x speed.  Even the 'twitching' animations on the toon select screen.  I figured it had to be some driver related issue or something so i gave it some time.  Well here we are many updates later and it is still going on.  I made a free toon on Live to see if it was happening there, and it was NOT!  I have tried numerous combos of GPU drivers / Chipset drivers / BIOS updates and cannot get anything working.

Do you guys have any suggestions to try to see where this is coming from or how to possibly fix this?!  Thanks in advance!

Edited to add a list of things attempted so far (will keep up to date):
  • Multiple drivers of GPU / Chipset
  • Many versions of motherboard BIOS
  • Downclocking the CPU, many steps attempted down to 3200MHz
  • Changing of CPU Affinity within eqclient.ini
  • Turning EXPO off (AMD's version of XMP)
  • 'Legacy' mode from within Ryzen Master
  • Turning off SMT (multi-threading)
  • Disabling 1 of the CCDs
  • Run with and without MQ2
  • Run with and without InnerSpace
  • Fresh Install of Windows 11
  • Changing of CPU Affinity in Process Lasso

**** I finally got it to work ****
    1)  When setting the clock speed of the CPU, you cannot do it from within Ryzen Master, you have to go to the bios to do it (multiplier set to 42.5 with base set at 100). So it isn't just a clock speed thing, but something a bit deeper, as I could verify clock speeds from Ryzen Master were setting locked at various frequencies.  I will try other combos of multiplier and base at some point to hopefully squeeze some more performance out.
    2)  Any changes above 42.5MHz bring the crazy speed back.  Really sad because I have a custom water cooled system for the first time too and this setting just hamstrings the PC!

Have you tried setting CPU Affinity in the ini file?

currently it looks like this:

CPUAffinity0=-1
CPUAffinity1=-1
CPUAffinity2=-1

... all the same to ...

CPUAffinity41=-1
CPUAffinity42=-1

I also did try getting rid of all of the CPUAffinityX lines in the ini, similar to what is in my live characters working one.  No change.

What exactly should i be trying with this?

Try changing them to 0 and see what happens.

Try running at 4250mhz or less.

Edited to add to list of things tried on initial post.  Unfortunately the things in the links didn't work for me though!

So I ran into something like this a few years ago.  Here is a link to the post.  http://ezserver.online/forums/index.php?topic=5178.0

In the end I had to down clock the CPU to get the game stable.

You know you're playing an old game when you need to tune down your computer for it to work properly! Jokes aside, good luck getting it to work!

Yep, I just updated the original post so no one else has to dig deep if they have the problem too.
