General Category / Quest and Guides / Re: Xiggie's general guide to classes on EZ Server

Hey Xiggie,
Great post. It also has a lot of potential to be expanded, but I don't know how exhaustive you want it to be, since it is a "general guide." If I understand, you just want people to know what they're getting themselves into when they roll their first toon, or consider which classes to box.
I can help you fill it in if there is something you're looking for specifically. Here is a start:
re: Zerkers Their 4.0 epic proc is roughly equivalent to 6x anger Vs. In other words, they do damage similar to a warrior before adding in their clicky and 3x FSV. They are absolutely the best AE class in the game and the best for ROA back-end.
re: Wizzies After the T3 spell, there is really no "cast-time" to speak of. Also, it is the bard's 3.5+ epic click that feeds mana.
re: Clerics Their dps can be decent with 4.0 and augs. It is just more than half of an equivalent paladin's dps. Of course, paladin dps isn't that great these days. Clerics heal more than twice as much as paladins with their epic proc, 3.0 shield, and group heal.

I thought there was a post here somewhere, but I can give the info: Short Answer: Tier 2 chest piece is the flag to get into HoH and it drops from Kronos. Long Answer: When you're in PoD, you kill dragons for a chance to spawn chests (2 kinds) and mini-bosses. The ornate chests and mini-bosses will drop crystals, which you turn in to specific Tikis for random bosses. Since it sounds like you just arrived in PoD, you should know that one side is Tier 1 and the other is Tier 2. You'll have to upgrade your Tacvi breastplate to T1 before you can upgrade it to T2. Take a look at this map: http://ezserver.online/forums/index.php?topic=531.msg7076#msg7076Tacvi = Qvic armor + Tacvi mold T1 = Tacvi armor + multiclass ore + T1 mold T2 = T1 armor + class ore + T2 mold (either class specific or dragon class) There are lots of other details, but that should get you started. The rest of the info can be found in other threads (rot bot, augments, who drops what, etc.)

General Category / Suggestions / Quested HP/Regen Augment
|

I'd like to suggest a quested HP/Regen augment - perhaps 2000hp / 300 regen.
The CG and FG quests were designed to introduce players to some of the familiar old haunts and sought-after items in EQ. This quest would be similar. One would be required to visit most of the old zones and kill certain mobs. Make it task-based, and only able to be completed once.
At the high end of the game, a 2K/300 aug is nothing. But, on the low end, I see a lot of players who cannot defeat Dragon Slave, complete LDoN, or scratch Qvic. Having something like this would help them, especially the regen.
Before anyone starts saying that people should suck it up, and how it was harder when they went through it, the fact of the matter is that people AREN'T working through it much these days. Instead, they're begging or buying their way.
edit: And if it were a type 7 aug, it would be marginally useful at the high end. People could put it in their UCs, filling up the slot that nothing will fit.

And would you make the lifetap aug available to an AoE class like a zerker? Even with a lowered tap ..his ability to proc on multiple mobs would make them way over powered with the healing possibility.
I'm not sure if you understand how the AoE proc of the zerker works. Their epic proc is AoE, but the augments you put into it are still single-target. Your idea for quested augs has some merit. We have to do something to help new players (besides giving them handouts) and smooth out their progression.

Currently there are three great dps augs: Firestrike, Icestrike and Ninjastrike. I think they're balanced, and am very grateful to have them.
What do you all think of a fourth aug with a lifetap?
We could start with the Icestrike stats/classes and then lower the damage to either 1/3 or 1/4 so it isn't overpowered. My thinking is that this would help newer players who are coming up and need that extra bit of healing (but still not replace the need for an actual healer). I imagine that heavy boxers wouldn't use it, except perhaps situationally for out-of-group dps to heal rampage damage.
Maybe at some point there would be a Firestrike equivalent, but we'd have to be careful not to overpower knights.
This may not be the best idea, but for this server to continue to grow, maybe we can start thinking of ways to smooth out the power curve and retain folks who can't box 6+. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.

I parsed my ranger, on Shadow or T4 Warlord, at about 50-53k dps, that's without spamming the clicky... I think if you added IceV to the bow, we'd be looking at around 60k, maybe mid 60, and a bit more if you spam the clicky.
One ISV aug does not do anywhere near 10k dps. Let's just be clear about that. That being said, I agree with you that allowing bows to use IS augs would not make them overpowered. I would still melee with my ranger.
